I cleaned it before we moved in, but it’s discolored/stained in some spots, and I recently tried a second method that tanked (boo!) so it’s onto the next thing!
Does anyone have any tried and true methods that are no-VOC, non-chemical, non-abrasive, organic and will contribute enough fodder for two to three posts?
In the meantime, we are simply ignoring it and continuing to walk barefoot on it while making cosmetic changes to the room.
Ha! I was just thinking about this after "your" blog post this morning!
Why not try 5 different methods like you're doing with wallpaper? Better yet, use the same method! Go dump a pot of boiling water on that baby and see what happens!

I don't know if this green method. I put spray top on a bottle of hydrogen peroxide. Spray the grout down let it do its thing for 10 minutes, scrub with brush, and rinse. I usually use this method before I reseal the grout.
You lost me at the organic, no voc... Grout that nasty needs some serious chemicals. I recently used resolve foaming carpet cleaner to clean grout in a rental we purchased. It did an excellent job. We were going to tear the tile floor out before but decided to leave it a few more years.
I would just spray paint the grout white, for sure. Then just wipe off the excess. Seems like the best solution?
Oh. No. No. No. You must ORB Gary Grout. So he blends right in with the floor. And ties in nicely with that mirror!
Haha Great tip on blending with the ORB! We aren't sure where we are going to end up on the vanity and it would be a shame to have to redo the grout again once we decide on a vanity for phase 2, but we'll be sure to keep you updated on any choices we make.
I know this is spilling the beans a little--- but we have already ORBed something in the room. Something with a lot of impact...
I'll give you a hint, the title of the post is Game of "Thrones"...
I know it's not everyone's style but we love the way that it ties in the different metals in the bathroom and transitions the door hardware. After we finished with the final coat I couldn't help but get down on the floor and wrap my arms around it in a giant hug. So pretty!
in all seriousness - bleach and baking soda is my favorite for cleaning grout. bleach isn't exactly chemical free, but i clean myself in my bathroom and i can't get clean in a dirty room.
