Anyone know the rate of how common that is? I'm just curious. I'll get tested in a few weeks.
I feel like I heard my OB say something like 30% are carriers. It's really NBD at all, doesn't affect you as the carrier - just need to make sure it doesn't get passed on to baby, so I'll be given antibiotics during delivery.

Yes, my OB said 1 in 5 test positive in his experience, so 30% isn't too far off.
lol @ your H. But that sucks When/how do they do this test anyways?
Right at the end, 35+ weeks, they do a quick swab just on the outside - here's the description from BabyCenter -
What is the test like? Your practitioner swabs the lower end of your vagina and your rectum (this isn't painful) and sends the swabs to a lab to be grown in a culture that will identify whether GBS bacteria is present. Your results should be available in two to three days, and your practitioner will give them to you at your next prenatal appointment. If she doesn't tell you, be sure to ask. You may have heard about GBS tests that can be done during labor and delivery in some hospitals, with results available within an hour or so. But the rapid tests are not as sensitive as those that allow time for the GBS to incubate. So at the present time, the CDC, ACOG, and AAP all still recommend screening at 35 to 37 weeks.
I was negative for with dd 2 years ago then tested positive this time with ds. My dh also thought it was some kind of std. I'm pretty sure he was googling it while the dr was telling us about it. Ha.
