Man I'm glad it's Friday!! My boss goes on vacation today for 10 days - I still have to work but I can finally catch up on all my billing and other crap that needs to get done without him adding more to it! I'm freakishly excited about this!
My Mama is coming over and staying the night tonight and we are heading to the beach tomorrow! Fingers crossed it doesn't rain.
I'm also chopping this mop on my head and I can't wait!!!! I've been debating whether or not to grow it back out and since DH said, "you don't look ugly with short hair, it actually looks really good on you" I've decided to chop it..again. He's a long hair guy, and for the most part I don't care but I suppose I'm feeling a little self-conscious these days so his "approval" was nice.
Sunday my sister & her fam are coming over & we are going to do a seafood boil with my Dad for his birthday..
We have a sort of family reunion to go to tomorrow with my Dad's side of the family (who, apparently, never get together and don't socialize much. should be fun). Adults only, though, so my ILs are watching B. And they're already pissing me off about it (shocker).
Oh. B has swimming class tomorrow morning. That's a standing Saturday thing all summer.
And then that's all that is really planned. Probably yard work and stuff.

My Dad's family doesn't talk either - But they recently got together for my Uncle's 60th bday, and it was actually really good. I guess i should say that they talk, but my Dad doesn't talk to them.. but my Uncle is sick and it was good for my Dad to go and see him, and the rest of his family. It wasn't nearly as awkward as i thought it would be.
I've gotta get some stuff crossed off the to do list this weekend. The baby's dresser drawers need... something... to get the old smell out of them, and I need to line them as well. Also should probably pack my hospital bag since I'm 38 weeks and all.
Maybe get in a date night with H on Saturday. We'll see.

My dad's family's kinda weird in that.... only half of his father's siblings came to America. The other half stayed in the old country until after WWII. So, culturally, half the family is moderately to very American while the other half is culturally German. Then, Grandpa went and married a woman from northern Germany, while his family comes from southern Germany... When most people think of the German divide, they think east/west. That's actually an artificial, political divide. The real cultural divide is north/south. Prussians don't like Bavarians, and vice versa.
The last time these two sides of the family got together where it was just them together was my parents wedding 50+ years ago.
No specific plans this weekend, except for cleaning the house as we have guests over next weekend and I can't do everything myself anymore so stuff that needs to be done by DH or together needs to be done this weekend.
My mom keeps mailing me to ask if she can come visit me. She's got 2038373million vacation days a year and is retiring soon and she seems to have forgotten that I HAVE A FULL TIME JOB. Ugh. No mom, you can't come over to check out the nursery and hang out on Thursday afternoon. IF I happen to be home it's because I'm working from home, not entertaining someone. Long story short, IF we get the house in decent enough shape quick enough I might just have to let my mom come over on Sunday.
On, and my weekend starts off great with my absolute love for sales and the current Euro/Dollar exchange rate (it's been better, but it's still pretty damn good.) I just did end up ordering a breast pump and the model I chose is 295 euro in NL and with the current exchange rate and this online sale I paid 120 euros for it (in Dollars). So even though I wanted to wait until I knew whether BFing would work, I bought it, because if it ends up being unused, I'll re-sell it and won't lose any money - for sure!
We have no plans this weekend. It's supposed to be hot/sunny and NOT RAINY for the first time all summer (or at least that's what it feels like), so I'm hoping we can go do something outside, or at least lay out on the deck it it's not too hot.
Stingyshark, I agree that short hair is cute on you!

Going to a baby shower tomorrow morning. And likely dealing with my Jeep... It decided to completely shut down on my way to work. Luckily I was stopped in a turn lane and turned off the engine and back on and it worked again, but I'm worried its going to be a $$$ fix.

Thanks! I miss my long hair when I want to be lazy and just throw it up - but short is so much cooler.
I read something yesterday that said it rained almost every day in July.. I think it rained everyday but the last 4-5 days. We had decent weather last weekend and for the majority of this week.
We are meeting up with friends tonight who will be moving across the country next weekend. I am excited to see them, but sad to say goodbye. And then Saturday is tailgating and a baseball game with a big group of friends. Should be super fun!
This is basically the first weekend this summer that hasn't been jam packed with events, so I'm looking forward to a pretty low key weekend just relaxing and doing some organizing at home.
Oh and I'm going to see Beck in concert on Sunday night.
It's supposed to storm tonight, so if H's softball game is cancelled we'll probably spend the night in and order out (I'm craving sushi!). Tomorrow we're doing some reorganizing of our storage space and moving things down from our former office/future nursery, then maybe headed to a family party. Sunday I hope to catch up on terrible Lifetime movies while H golfs!
There is a festival in our area this weekend (like a comedy festival on the waterfront called the Buskers) and we will be going there Hopefully I won't need to pee too much, and I will be able to find a place to sit for the shows lol

Cleaning the baby's room up as much as I can, and working on some projects around the rest of the house. I've been putting things off for weeks, with the thought 'oh, I'll get it done next weekend.' Well, I'm starting to run out of time.

Wait, really? *goes to check the Packers schedule* Oh. Ours doesn't start till next week. That explains why I've heard nothing about it.
yeah, it's just the Hall of Fame game (cowboys vs. dolphins) but STILL. the sounds of NFL will be back on tv. i'm thrilled!
I can't wait! Football season is the best.
My inlaws are having a huge party with a band tomorrow..it should be fun as long as I feel ok. Will probably spend a lot of my time on a floaty in the lake!

Boy, I'm a ball of excitement aren't I? :-D
This is me too. Tonight we're taking the girls to the Phillies game, but the rest of the weekend will be spent moving the freshly painted furniture into the girls' room (so that I can finally move Kate from the crib to a big girl bed!) and sorting through mostly girl baby clothes to see what will work if we end up with a boy.
I did get most of my hospital bag packed earlier this week, not that I expect to need it early or anything.
My running buddy who jumped the pond is visiting and we are hosting a big BBQ for her on Saturday. Then Sunday I'll probably be recovering and figuring out ways to spend more time with her!
It'll be busy but I'm so, so excited to see her and her little baby!
Meeting up with old friends tonight for pizza. I am excited for both aspects of this event.
Saturday we're going to the SF Botanical Gardens, because oddly DH and I have never been! We've been to every other botanical garden everywhere, and done everything else in GG park, but somehow we've never done the SF Bot. Then afterwards we shall get something tasty to eat...undecided, but there's always good food in SF.
Sunday will be lazy day. I will crank out more thank you cards and finalize lists of things I still need for baby. And start to think about my hospital bag(!!!)
I am biased Stingyshark but I adore having short hair, (and I've even had to chop it all off really short like a boy twice, so I think I've had plenty of experience with it!) I just think it fits my personality better. You have a good shaped face for any short cut; dooooo eeeeetttt!

sameoldash I want to get some pretty printed wrapping paper or scrapbook paper to line the drawers, using modge podge. I saw it on pinterest. Hopefully it works okay? Otherwise, regular ol' drawer/cabinet liner is just plain and boring.
If anyone has any good ideas, or experience lining a drawer, speak up!
I am super close with my aunt (she was basically my mother for the first 8 years of my life) and my grandmother (we have the same birthday and they are driving 7 hours to come tomorrow!! I am so shocked and so happy. I can't wait to see them.
I lined our drawers with super cute wrapping paper from target. To get it to stick I used these little glue dots you find with scrapbooking stuff. I didn't want something so messy or permanent like mod podge.

H and I are just staying in tonight and going to cookout. It has been a busy work week for both of us. He leaves for a golf outing with friends tomorrow and I am heading to my parents.
Tonight we're going to dinner with my cousin and her husband; our anatomy scan was this afternoon and the Doctor said everything is "perfect" (and confirmed we're having a girl ), so we're celebrating. Tomorrow I'm going to spend the day with my BFF. She's nine days more pregnant than I, and we haven't seen each other in nearly a month, so that should be fun. Sunday we're going to BRU to register, and then we're supposed to go to the IL's and go swimming, but we'll see what ends up happening. I love busy weekends.
I have summer hours so I had a 1/2 day today. I planned to drive straight to the beach from work, but when I went to get changed I realized I had 2 tops and 0 bottoms. I drove back home got changed & went down to the beach. Weather was perfect and the ocean was crystal clear and warm -- if it was a little less choppy I would have never gotten out. DH met me down at the beach a little later and brought me dinner <3 I also half-baked today!
We want to try and get to the beach again on Sunday and do errands and begin our registry tomorrow
