Can we do a sticky registry-type thread?

I feel like it would be really helpful to have a "GP's Favorite Things" or something similar - info on what items are "must haves" and a general idea of how many of those items to register for, brands that are tried and true vs. horror stories or stay away froms.  

I am nowhere near registering or even researching, but I know I won't be stepping into BrU or any other store without my girlfriends who are Moms.  I need personal anecdotal help!  A sticky post would be so helpful.

IIRC, it was @missy1 who suggested something like this, but I love the idea and I'm bringing it back up!
