I have some bald spots in my eyebrows from years of overplucking as a teenager Sometimes I pencil them in but the color never matches and they end up looking like I penciled them in... which isn't the point! Any brunettes out there have product recs for filling in sparse eyebrows?

I use Maybelline Define-A-Brow pencil in medium brown, followed by (drugstore) matte brown eyeshadow applied with a fine chisel brush. Cheap, effective, and easy to match a wide range of haircolors.
I tried the ELF and I felt like Groucho Marks... not sure I did it right... so went into Sephora and bought one (don't remember the brand, will look when I get home). It's sort of like a very fine point sharpie (LOL) and you use small brush strokes. They had quite a few shades to match your brows...
Now can someone explain to me how to use the ELF one?
Oh and lastly, I got the ELF primer this weekend, at first I thought I loved it but then it was SOOO oily my makeup would just slide off my face.... maybe I used to much eh? Isn't the point of primer to KEEP makeup ON your face not slide right off? (or did I do this wrong too)
