...both depressing and kind of fun. I must be crazy. lol
I am trying to come up with a productive way to make use of the time while we wait for the studio window to show up, so I have gone around the outside of the house and through the house, room by room, making notes.
Every time I think I have figured out a good project, I realize that it is either dependent on another project, or that it opens a whole new can of worms. I think I need to find 'ground zero'. ;p
I keep putting off this particular list because it includes things like "paint the drop ceilings". Because the last person paired them YELLOW. a dingy dirty nasty yellow. what is wrong with a plain white ceiling?

We have a list on an Google document or excel spreadsheet kinda thing. With estimated costs and order of importance. We can both access it, add notes and links if we find something. H also joined pinterest to follow my home pins. I swear we are not completely crazy. We both have massive add. This the only way things ever get done.
I made a list in a notebook, then lost the notebook... So when I found the notebook it was very exciting to go through and cross off like 10 different things.
I have until Monday to figure out which jobs are the most important to us to have done right away. At least DH and I can have the weekend to go over the lists and talk about it and have some choices when I meet with the GC.
Good news...the door for the studio has been picked up and will be put in on Monday morning. It is the only thing that can be done without the window in, but I'll take it.
I made a list of mini projects - things that can feasibly be done in 1 weekend for not much money. That makes me feel like i have a jar of happy to pull from when I need the instant gratification of crossing something off a list. That takes my mind of the list of not-single-weekend-projects...
I have one of those. It's 5 pages long. We used to keep it on the counter, but it was too depressing, so now it's in a drawer. LOL
worst idea ever mrsJ! I'd have to be institutionalized if I left a list like that sitting out. Hidden in the drawer sounds much much better.
We have an excel list that I pull from to make shorter term lists. H has the ADD thing, so if I make him a list of what he's focusing on that day or week he does better. He could make his own list, but he likes for me to do it and we talk about it so it's not like I'm making him do my bidding, in case it sounded that way.
We made a list like this after we bought our house. I need to revisit it and cross some things off but add more on. Eventually we'll make progress...I think.

Actually it is a productive way. Until you have a list of the projects, it is hard to figure our where to start.

I have a list like that. Then it's sorted by how long the projects will take, estimates, what needs to be done first.....it goes on and on and it can be a little depressing but it's so much fun to cross stuff off!
When we have a free weekend or a few extra bucks it's nice to look at to make a short small project list that we can easily tackle.
