preferably something I can get at Home Depot since my options are limited :-)
I've used spray paint in the past, but I'm going to do a new tv/media stand and I want to do it right.
and in the spirit of doing it right and not taking shortcuts... are their any paint and primer in one options for furniture, lol? I loved our p/p eggshell wall paint (behr), but would the semi-gloss version of that work just as well for wood?
I have been using regular latex paint with either a brush or a foam brush, then following up with a coat of sealer... Now I'm wondering if I should jump on the chalk paint bandwagon. I've been using this blog as research; there is a follow-up post comparing the different types of chalk paint, including DIY.

I did a lot of research before painting my daybed. I really didn't want to buy at sw or bm but the reviews on glidden trim and cabinet paint seem to be the best our of HD paint. I also considered the trim and cabinet paint by ace but couldn't find it in store. I ended up with the sw pro classic line and I'm really glad I did. All the paints I mentioned are self leveling which was key for me. I used the Kilz cover stain to prime before I painted.
i ended up buying a quart of Behr Premium Plus something something (the can is up in the garage) in satin. it's a paint/primer in one and so far i love it. i only have one coat on so far, but it's exactly what i was hoping for. we'll see how it holds up over time.
