My local tv news last night featured a short interview with William Petit, the survivor of that home invasion that you all were discussing in regards to the HBO documentary. His new wife is expecting. I hope he is able to put some of the horror behind him, but it was kind of sad because he looked like he was about to burst into tears when the reporter asked him if he was excited about starting a new family.
Agree that's a pretty indelicate thing to say. I can't imagine that the poor man isn't haunted and missing his family every day even if he's happy with moving forward and the new baby.
Yes my local tv news is particularly bad. I think maybe because we are kind of a small market? I feel like this is the first place I have lived without getting a more "major city" tv news.
I think CNN had the "story" too. I am glad he is moving forward with his life but WTF to the implication that he is excited about a "new family." I mean I am sure he is excited but that was so indelicate.
I can't even imagine how this guy must feel. That reporter was very obnoxious. He really should be left alone but at the same time...I think he takes these interviews to promote The Petit Family Foundation most of the time. I actually think that's how he met his new wife.
