I am using a smart coach plan for my first 1/2 (in December). Right now I am at 3 runs a week; I typically do Tuesday, Thursday and either Saturday or sunday.
I am supposed to do 3 miles today. I am also doing 3 tomorrow AM because i had to switch up my schedule due to work.
My hip is bothering me a little and my muscles feel really tight. Would it hurt my training to skip today to stretch? I also haven't had a rest day since Wednesday.
You should be fine to rest today. Don't push yourself and get hurt further. Don't look at rest as a bad thing either. Obviously get your training runs in but rest is an essential part of training too. Good luck!
No, it won't hurt you. Maybe go for a walk instead and then stretch and see if that helps. It's better to listen to your body now then to push through something and then have the raging injury in the more critical part of the training.
