Makes me want to do one! I mean I have been swimming more. I would just need to take my bike out of retirement and actually ride the thing. Oh, and I should probably wait until after the baby is born but hearing all the race reports is motivating!
Ha! I told kams' DH today that watching that race made me absolutely positive I will NEVER do a triathlon. I'll just stick to running, please and thank you.

This is me. Doesn't make me want to do it even a little bit. I think it's awesome, but nope, zero desire to swim or bike competitively.
Yeah, I'll probably change my mind the first time I'm out on my bike!
Oh, don't let tara & I be total killjoys & ruin your enthusiasm. Lol You at least have an interest in doing it, so you should definitely explore it! I can't even pretend that I have enough focus or determination for three sports. I'm sure they're a blast though.

Completely agree! The people I saw today clearly love what they do and I'm sure it IS fun for people who like to ride and swim. I just don't.
Going out to races makes me want to do them more. See if you can volunteer at a race so you can get a feel for it (and get pumped!) I know our local race company gives "race bucks" towards future races for volunteers. I started with running and then decided to try a duathlon. I swore I'd never swim. I'm doing my first triathlon 9/7.
I agree--I have wanted to do a sprint tri for ever, but I have not been on a bike since middle school!! BUT, my friend and I are signing up for one next summer as her bachelorette party--I cannot wait!

I want to do one, too. But I need SO much practice with the swim and bike, it's ridiculous. I had a really bad bike accident and haven't really ridden since then, so I'm kind of scared of bikes now. Maybe in a year or two, if I can take some swim lessons and not freak out when I get over 10 mph on the bike.
I've done an Olympic tri before and while I didn't hate it I can't say I love biking. It scares me. I know I just need to get out more often but I also have this fear of crashing and then not being able to do the things I love (running). At least if I injure myself running its doing something I have a passion for. This is what holds me back. Pretty much I'm a mental headcase and a big pansy!
