like as in boudoir photos of yourself, not just of your bedroom decor? lol
I almost created an AE to ask this because I have no idea. I remember people used to talk about doing photo shoots for their H's as a wedding gift. I was never one of those people, ha, but H recently mentioned that he'd like a couple pictures of me. ::blushes::
We didn't talk about it further, but I'm considering it. H isn't much of a photog, so while I'd be more comfortable around him, I think a pro would do a much better job. So if I go with a pro photo shoot how does that work? Do they have a set? Do they come to your home (if so I will need you to style my room!!) How on earth do I pose without feeling silly?

My friend just did some for her DH with his new motorcycle. They are truly awesome. I don't know if your DH is into motorcycles but they were pin up style and they are gorgeous! Hers were done in a body shop. I've also seen photographers do them hotels for like an all day event. Some of you questions probably depends on your photographer. Around here they include hair and makeup too. If you drink you might want a glass of wine before to relax.

i remember they were popular wedding gifts, but I didn't have the funds (or the kahoonas really). I had never discussed with H, but about a year after we were married he mentioned that a coworkers wife was a boudoir photog and he seemed horrified (and lets just say he is no prude). so i'm glad i didn't spend the money since he wouldn't have been that into it.
thanks for all the feedback ladies. I'm glad to hear how many people said that they made you feel good. I don't have a perfect figure by any means, but if the pro can make me feel comfortable and get a few strategic shots that would be pretty cool. I can see looking back on them when I'm older being glad there's documentation that I had a waistline. Actually, with my hips, it will always look like I have a waistline, lol.
I looked at several photographers websites last night. There's one that has a studio that I really like, so I think I will check her availability.
I was pretty squicked out by this at first, but I'm coming around. I haven't had my hair or nails or anything done in forever and I could see how this could be a nice chance to do some pampering and feel good about myself. I also have nothing but basic cotton briefs and raggedy t-shirts. I could step it up a bit. I'm not into lingerie but I could stand to have something a little cute or something matching.
I did them when I was very early pregnant with Monkey. I took my sister with me because I was nervous (and apparently not shy lol) and they came out really great. My H has a book of them and we thought they had gotten lost but we found them when we moved lol. Oh thank goodness because I didn't want to be like the last owners who left a semi-nude portrait in the closet when THEY moved. (Even more awkward because our friends live in our old house now.)
I did them for our 1 yr anniversary. It was a big thing on the nest then, so it was easy to find a photographer. Lots of "wedding" photogs do them. I rented a room at a B&B to do it, and practiced smiling in the mirror for a few weeks beforehand. LOL.
I was super hot back then compared to now, so I'm glad I did it. I barely recognize myself in the photos. FWIW, my DH looked at them like 1x. I consider them to be more for me now! Haha. I did feel awesome doing them.
ditto all of this, except mine were a wedding gift.
It's fun! I brought along two of my BFF's for a peanut gallery to make it less weird. But we're all pretty casual about seeing each other's bits so if that is not the case for you an audience would probably make you more nervous not less. I wasn't going full monty so I really didn't care. Everybody has seen my boobs.
If you're into the pinup style there are photogs that specialize in that, and for those you'd typically go to their studio or a specific location and do it there. A lot of them even have clothes you can borrow. I can ask around my friends and family who live in your areaish to see if they have any specific recommendations. I *think* some of them have done the pinup style pics.

yes do it! And you'd be amazed what a strategic shot and posing can do.
Some of my favorite pictures were with just a simple pair of white hipster briefs and one of MH's white dress shirts. Doesn't have to be fancy. Though some of my favorite shots from the ones a friend of mine just did were with a red satin corset and REALLY high heels - so it works both ways.

Eeek emo that would not be good!
Yeah, it would have been kind of bad. Nothing more risque than a bathing suit, but still.
I kind of want to find them so I can remember what I looked like before kids lol.
I had a lot of fun. I felt very comfortable and felt super sexy. It's definitely pricey. I would highly, highly recommend that you have them do your hair and makeup so it shows up right on camera.

cool, glad to hear another story of feeling comfortable doing the shoot. And if your avatar pic is from the set, it looks like they did come out really good.
yeah, it's all looking like it's going to add up a lot more than I'd like...but if I'm going to do it I want to have the hair/makeup/clothes right.

Yep, that is from my session!
It's definitely pricey. I ended up buying new underwear and a lingerie set. It's one of those things that you have to put money in for it to come out good.
