Ok, again. But in a worse way than just hoity-toity supermarkets.
I've had my eye on a piece of art for quite some time now. It is the one that will really complete my tiny collection. I don't think I will buy any "real" art if I buy this.
But I haven't bought it because it is SO FREAKISHLY expensive.
Well.
My art dealer (LOL, I HAVE A SO-CALLED ART DEALER) just sent me an e-mail informing me that my coveted piece has been reduced in price by almost 40%.
It is still fucking expensive. As in...more than my monthly mortgage payment. Ugh.
But I think I'm going to pull the trigger.
This post had no point really. I'm just really excited.

Good art is worth the money, since you'll be looking at it every day.
Also, every time you get huffy about other people being young, I'm going to be like, "Well, @misoangry, I may have graduated high school in 2007, but you have an ART DEALER."
Honestly, if you still think about it and want it, it obviously speaks to you somehow and you should jump at the opportunity to get it on sale. Unless it means you can't afford food for the monkey this month, of course.
Do it. I don't think a one time payment equivalent to the mortgage is irresponsible if it doesn't become a habit. FI moved up here from Santa Fe and we both have lots of artist friends down there. We really want to buy a really nice, quality piece at some point.

Exactly this, you love it, it's on sale, it's meant to be.
I think you guys may laugh at my obsession, but I will post anyway. There are a few versions available. My dealer knew that I really really really wanted a "flower ball" or a round piece to put in between my two other square works.
I like the first two the most. They are the OG flower balls.
Good art that cost less than one month's mortgage payment would make me skeptical. (I see plenty of mediocre stuff at more than one month's mortgage so anything really good would have to cost that.)
