My derm said that my melasma will improve significantly with a series of 4-5 light AHA peels. Wondering if anyone does them, what results they have seen? any complications or problems? Thanks

I've done and I love the results! first, I did a fairly standard "beauty shop" type series in my 20's. It burns but my skin was super bright and completely clear of acne. not much peeling after a day or two.
recently, I did a few stronger peels over 3 months. the last one was deep and I peeled for one week! like sloughy dead skin, snake molt, gross. my husband was afraid of me. But the results are spectacular. skin looks firm, bright, much more even tone. I would probably do it again but I would have to take off work b/c it was crazy obvious.
then you have to use SPF, hats, etc or the dark areas will return. it will make you prone to photo damage b/c the "new" skin is super fresh, sensitive. so i keep shiseido SPF 55 in my bag.
