You guys were right, my body wasn't getting enough calories and was going into starvation mode. She said MFP definitely underestimates calories. She wants me eating at least 1500/day, a bit more if I exercise.
She gave me some tips for avoiding late night snacking, which is my big downfall. She uses 4 D's - Delay (15-20 minutes), Distract (knit or something that I'll actually be interested in doing), Distance (try to keep craving foods out of the house) and Decide - if I still really crave it, have an appropriate serving size and don't feel guilty about it.
She wants me to have meals that are half a plate of veggies or fruits, 1/4 plate of whole grains and 1/4 lean protein.
And exercise 3 times a week if I can - she suggested I do C25K again. That's not always possible bc of H's work schedule, but I'll try. I also have a jogging stroller, but I prefer exercising alone.
And 8 glasses of water a day.
All stuff I already know, but I think it will be good having someone to be accountable to. I see her again in 3 weeks to see how I'm doing.
you can totally do this. I think if you need to report in to someone you will make the extra effort to eat better or make better decisions about food and exercise. Either way you are beautiful.
