For looking up home/duplex rentals? I really do not want to live in a large complex at this point in my life.
Just looking ahead.
As much as it sucks, I have given into the fact that once we can just afford to get out of our current home, we will have sunk any money into it just to get away that we'll have nothing for a down payment somewhere else. We'll have to rent again after 8 years of owning, womp womp.
Anyhow, I am bored at work and am kinda poking around various sites in order to get an idea of how much a home/duplex rental would be in the area we might be heading to in the future (hopefully next year).
I did not find craigs list to be too helpful. Maybe some fellow massholes have some good sites too?
Thanks ladies, I had not thought of those (heart) I hate this...why did the ecomony have to tank right after we bought?

I'm dealing with this right now, too. We are thinking of listing our house and then potentially renting if it sells. You aren't alone.
It sucks, and we can't even list ours because we owe more than its worth. I'm just so sad that we bought when we did and got so screwed. Sigh... Sorry you are in a similar boat.

I feel you! I think New England was hit really hard. We live in Rhode Island and bought in July 2007. The market tanked literally 3 days after we submitted our purchase and sales agreement. We were already stuck! Our house is appraised at half of what we paid. It makes me sick! We have just resigned to the fact that we are stuck here for the next 15-20 years.

We bought in may 2007. We would totally stay here as i love this town but DH took a job almost three years ago and is commuting 3 hours a day, it's killing us and we need to move. Ugh..I guess I hoped things would improve faster? I hate that we have to move, but this job has been a great opportunity for him.
that will be nice in the end if you guys get more family time together and your husband will love less of a commute. Maybe you can find a daycare closer too and everything will work out.
