Im waking up very, very, VERY early, to do a swimming workout with people who probably swim five times as fast as i do. For twice as long as i normally swim. In an outdoor pool, when its supposed to be in the low 60s out.
Then i have a full day of meetings at work.
Hold me. Im scared.
Update: first of all, it wasnt cold at all. Clearly i was just bekng a wuss about that.
Second, it was super fun! Clearly im slower than most, but not by a lot, definitely not by an embarrassing amount. Also, im impressed with my endurance, i didnt feel like crapping out at any time, which was my fear. I think im going to keep swimming with them. Woohoo.
Let us know how it goes. Is this a Masters practice?
From what i understand, theyre trying to start a masters team. My friend who dragged me into thhis, is on another masters team. Or was. The details are fuzzy. Lol

Have fun!
We swim outside all year round. Granted I live in Texas so it doesn't get that cold here but I would kill for a swim in the 60s right now. The pool we do masters in feels like a bath tub right now. Blech.
Glad to hear the swim went well! What was the pool workout you did? Great job!
So we did a 1000m warm up (usually my whole workout is like 1500 yards!), then timed 100m free. Then we did some stuff with fins and paddles, then some back and breast...crap, im half asleep, there wasmore than that lol
Anyway, it was super fun. I need to get fins, the pair i borrowed were too tight.
