I've been MIA from the boards for the past few months, work has been nutty and I can only read from my phone while I'm there! I'm ready for the maternity leave to kick in.
I'm at 35 weeks on Thursday and feeling pretty good. I ran 2.25 miles on the treadmill on Sunday and felt great; it wasn't until a few hours later that my hips and pelvis were complaining. I've been trying to lift a bit, especially my shoulders and back to prepare for holding the baby. Doing deep squats (at home) has helped me keep the peeing under control. The guys at the gym are staring to give me the side-eye. Last week, the older meatheads who are there when the gym opens were asking me how far along I was and then told me the horror stories of their wives' labor. Thanks, guys
My first delivery was an unplanned c-section and I'm really hoping for a VBAC this time. The c-section recovery was tough and I'd really like to get back at it as soon as possible this time.
I've entered the 2nd trimester and its pretty great. I woke up yesterday craving my old favorite salad (w/ peaches and advocado) and not bagels! I also ran for 20 minutes straight with no walking which I hadn't done basically the whole first trimester.
Because I was really low carb before I got pregnant and then ate so many carbs during my first tri- I've gained about 13 pounds when it should have been 5. And that was with working out 5x a week. I'm going to need to get my eating back on track now that I seem to be able to eat my usual food.
30 weeks today! I've been doing well, can't complain. Well I can (hello heartburn) but it doesn't do any good! After a couple of weeks with SI joint issues and fatigue my workouts are feeling ok again. I've been spending more time in the pool. The biggest thing for me is I'm constantly hungry. I eat all day long. I think I'm gaining appropriately so I try not to worry about it too much. My shower is this weekend. I am both looking forward to it and dreading it. I hate being the center of attention!
19wks today, according to my baby bump app. We had our a/s scan last week and baby P was measuring 6 days ahead. The tech said she was about as far down in my pelvis as she could get, and she didn't want to get out of that position, already being difficult.
Feeling good, mostly just tired. Not sleeping very well, but I guess that's just going to be my normal. We got her crib & dresser, and our first order of diapers/wipes from amazon yesterday. That made me laugh; it is so weird to see baby stuff around our house. I really never thought I would be a Mom. I'm happy; it's just weird.
We go on walks..occasionally. heh. DH "fixed" my stationary bike, so I should be able to use that now.. if I would just go downstairs and use it.

Very excited @kirkette is joining us!
Glad to see you're doing well 2doxies and whiterock. Hope you have a nice shower this weekend hannahb and please stop talking about shopping Stingyshark. You're making me want to go out and buy ALL THE THINGS.
25w4d and things are cruising along. My Gabrialla belt arrived on Monday. I attempted some jogging, but it was still uncomfortable. Undecided if the belt makes a difference for other cardio. Maybe in a few more weeks. I'm doing mostly the elliptical and walking on the treadmilll at home, with the occasional spin class mixed in.

Stingyshark It's such a cute little car, I'm sure it's hard ot part with. Are you getting rid of it completely for your DH's truck, or trading it in for something else?

It is fun to drive, for sure.. but it actually quite uncomfortable. My tailbone hurts after long car rides; even prior to being pregnant.
We are going to sell it.. Trading it in is super less than ideal, bc we are upside down on it like whoa. (this was such a stupid, stupid, impulsive purchase.. lesson learned, hopefully). If we sell it private party, we can sell it and only have to put some money with it.
We did talk about only having DH's truck, but I just don't know how practical that would be. Right now we spend about $200/mth in gas.. It's $90 to fill up his truck, and I'm guessing we would have to fill up once a week if I drove it daily. That is just not practical, in my mind. I'm not looking for a new car, and the payment I have in mind would be less than if I drove his truck daily. .. ugh, who knows. I NEVER thought we would be trying to get pregnant less than a year after buying that car.

Just curious. That would be a big change to go from your car to a big truck like that. That $90/tank bill sounds scary! What cars are you looking at?
We have a similar deliemma, and we keep putting off the decision. DH's truck is a 2 seater-which has been fine the past 4 years since we have at least one family sized car. But do we upgrade to a big, gas-guzzling full-cab truck? Or just get an additional commuter car for me to drive during the week while he has the "family car"? Sucks either way since his truck is paid off, and he does use it pratical purposes like hauling landscaping material and towing the boat.
11.5 weeks and I'm actually feeling pretty good! The 24/7 nausea started wearing off last week and this week it's pretty much gone. Woohoo!
Still no running or other high-impact activities. I have my NT scan next week so we'll get another look at the placenta. I know it's unlikely to have moved from its stubborn perch on top of my cervix (from what I've read, they do usually move, but not until later on) but a girl can hope, right? I miss running, especially now that I'm feeling a little better. Instead, I've been doing lots of elliptical, plus some walking and lap swimming. And weights (not super heavy ones) 2-3 times a week.
I drive his truck occasionally, and it rides sooooooooo nice compared to my car. BUT, it is HUGE. We also used to have a single cab truck.. that + a 2 seater car was a pain in the ass when we needed to take the dogs somewhere. We ended up driving both cars to my Mom's house numerous times bc we couldn't all fit in the truck.. so we bought the 4dr, which is awesome. but big. Lord, it's big. Your H could fit comfortably in the back.. I don't know if it's bc its the FX2 model, or what, but there is WAY more space in the back than a regular 4dr super crew.
We also can't get rid of the truck for the boat towing capabilities.
I'm all over the place with what I'm looking at. I'm looking at the toyota camry, nissan altima, ford fusion, kia optima.

Stingyshark Those all sound like nice choices, and a good compromise on size vs.gas mileage. Was car shopping ever fun? I'm not looking forward to it at all.
shelbyann Glad to hear you're feeling better. Best wishies for good news at your NT scan!

I have never really went out and drove multiple cars before choosing. When we bought my Z, we weren't even planning on buying, but we are suckers.
When we bought the truck, DH has a VERY specific truck in mind. He wouldn't settle for anything else, so once he found what he wanted, that was it.
I HATE negotiating/haggling.. It's stressful, so I don't find that fun at all.

Congrats @abbycobb!
Glad your feeling better and fingers crossed that things have shifted around!

Thanks! I have found that the belt doesn't help that much for other types of cardio. Maybe it will be different for you. It's helped a little for running, but on days where things are stretching a bunch it hasn't helped that much. That's when I swim or stairclimb. Spin for me is miserable, my back hurts and my belly is in the way!

erm. no I need to adjust to having a kid first.. I'll really stroke out if I have a kid AND a MINIVAN in the same year.
Stingyshark- bye bye 350? ::sob:: If it wasn't for AJ, I'd come to Fl and take that bad boy off your hands in a heartbeat! Instead, we are waiting on the title for my late MIL's car to be sent to us so we can have it transferred into our names and get the mother of all tuneups so I can start driving it. It's a Pilot, so it'll serve our purposes just fine...THEN we're taking my old beat up accord and J's newer (2004), in great shape but 2 door Civic in to be traded in so we can get a more "family oriented" car for J. He wants a small SUV but I'm pushing for a sedan (maybe a 4 door Accord-can you tell we're Honda people?) because honestly we don't NEED two small SUVs right now and won't anytime soon. Damn being a grownup and making adult decisions
runblondie26-my Gabrialla belt didn't help me all that much either. Maybe it was the way AJ was situated in there, but I felt like my bladder and pelvic pain was even worse when I ran with the belt compared to when I didn't.
@abbycobb-the 10 miler I did the morning I found out I was pg was my first "Holy shit, maybe I AM pregnant!" moment...I was way more out of breath than I should have been. I think I was just over 5 weeks at the time? Either way, I came home and took the test as planned...and the rest is history!
7 weeks yesterday, and we got to see the baby/ heartbeat! I feel really slow when running, and nausea from 3:00 on through the night. I try to eat healthy and exercise in the morning when I feel best.
I had my baby on Monday! Her due date! It was a fast, easy delivery and we got the home birth we wanted. She's a great little baby! Looking forward to healing up and starting running again. I went for my first run/walk in like 2 months the day before she was born. It felt great and was probably helped things get started.
