What do you do with racing numbers (bibs) and medals?

What do you do with your racing numbers (bibs) and any metals you get?  Do you display them?  Do you throw them in a box?  Pitch?  Have a cute little display thingy from Etsy?

I toss my bibs. My kids get my medals. They love playing with them.

I want to order a matching display for my medals. We also have a bunch of medals/trophies on a shelf as well as a framed Cherry Blossom poster and medal. I'm going to hang the race bibs in our basement.

I use my medals as Christmas tree ornaments.

My medals from 2013 are sitting on a bookshelf. I'll put them on the tree this year, and then pack them away with the Christmas stuff in January.

Bibs I currently keep pinned together in a stack, waiting for some bright idea to hit for what to do/make with them.

I throw out my bibs. Medals end up floating around the house whereever my daughter leaves them when she's done playing (she's 2.5).

I want to know what to do with the plaques I've won... Right now they sit on our buffet near the front door. I don't want to toss the plaques because I earned them, but they are SO ugly.

I have mine hanging in the garage on the wall. I write the event name and finish time on the back.

Most bibs get pitched, unless they're from a particularly special or memorable race. The ones that don't go in a shoebox, along with the medals.

I toss my bib unless its a memorable race too. Medals hang in my shed. DH keeps all his bibs and medals but they are also in the shed so its like a shrine in there!

Race numbers get thrown away unless it was for a really big event. Medals get hung on the corner of my shelf in the "pile."

Ours are hanging in the garage. We still haven't done anything with our medals and they are piling up!

DH made me an awesome shadow box for mine. I just don't know where I should put it.

I am stealing this idea.  I don't have a lot of medals but the ones I do have have very good memories associated with them.  Tied up with nice ribbon, they'd be great on a Christmas tree.

I had bibs from my 5 favorite races sewn into a gym bag. I got it from etsy. The medals collected on my closet doorknob until I couldn't take the clanking anymore. I made a medal holder (diy tutorials on pinterest if you need inspiration) and hung it in the basement next to the treadmill.

I don't have any medals of my own yet but I have a boatload of ribbons, plaques and medals for my dogs *blush*. I hang the best ones up in my office and plan to use a cheap curtain rod mounted on the wall to hang the rest. My dog is a weirdo and he's pretty aware of "his" ribbons; he likes it when they call his name on the PA and runs up to the front to get pets from whoever is handing out awards lol.

Bibs go in a picture album with a picture of the race (it's interesting to see how your body changes over time) and I include facts about the race (i.e. time, PR, weather).

I rip off the sleeve for the page the bib will be glued on and use a scrapbook page from a tear-out book I have to frame it.

Medals-I just have hanging up on the coat rack right now. I'm not sure what I'll end up doing with them.

I throw away bibs.

I'll try to avoid finisher medals if I can, it's kind of just junk I end up throwing away.

Actual awards I find some way to display..like at work, or on a bookshelf etc.

I have something similar.  I painted an old board and have two sets of nails (one for big bibs, one for small) with a hook underneath for my medals.

I write brief things on the back of every bib --- starting temp, final time, distance, any other notable moments.

Medals are currently hanging from a doorknob. I need a rack of some sort.

I throw away bibs. My medals are in a box that the kids sometimes get out and play with. DS likes the Steamtown one (b/c of the train), and DD likes the Boston one (unicorn, of course). I threw away the few trophies and plaques I had when moving. I was in a toss everything phase.

I throw them out. I have kept some medals from memorable races (first marathon, Boston, a couple PR races). I am clearly not very sentimental.

Right now my bibs are pinned to my cube wall at work. A reminder during my day of my goals outside of work (and a reminder not to let the vending machine get me during a rough afternoon because it will hurt me during my run). Plus it's a good conversation starter with people.
