Mae Belle = Maybelle. I don't mind the names individually, but I feel like she would always be Maybelle. You'd have a hard time getting people to call her Mae.
I don't have feelings for Thatcher either way. Perfectly fine, but NMS.

I like Mae. Not Mae Belle. It sounds very southern, but I wouldn;t call it hick. Maybe genteel? Not a fan of Thatcher or the last name as first name idea.
I don't mind Thatcher. I also don't mind Mae by itself or Belle, but not necessarily together. If they were family names, you could use Mae Annabelle or something. Just so they don't necessarily flow together as the name "Maebelle".
If Mae Belle is a double first name I would use one of them alone, honor it by using Mabel (love it), or use them as first and middle name. Mae is a family name so we used it as a middle name, but I love it anyway. I don't like May Belle together as a double first name though.

I LOVE Mae. It's a frontrunner for #2 should we have a girl. Wil.la Mae was my beloved great grandmother. I'm not sure if we'll use it as a middle or first, though.
