We switched Violet to 1 nap about a week and a half ago. She used to take an a.m. nap for 1 - 1.5 hours and a p.m. nap for 1.5 - 2 hours. Now she's only napping about 1.5 hours midday! Where is my 2.5 - 3 hour consolidated nap??
Anyone have some tips for us? Room is nice and dark, she eats lunch directly before going down, white noise is on...
How much time do you give until you go in and get her? I know with Cam, if he wakes up after that amount of time, I wait a bit. He almost always goes back down. Maybe try that??
But honestly, I dont really know any secrets. We had the same schedule (1st nap 1.5 hours, second 1ish hours), and then all of a sudden he was doing 1 nap at 1pm, and will sleep like 2-3 hours. Just all of a sudden. I am still waiting for it to stop, because it just isnt my kid to sleep that long!

I've been leaving her for at least a half hour to see if she'll go back down as long as she's not upset. (Bad mom alert? I dunno.) Anyway, I just watch her roll around on the monitor. She's having a good old time in there kicking the sides of the crib and clapping. What the heck?? lol
Hmmm... she gets up around 7:30ish and the nap is at noon. How long is Violet C.'s first awake period?
That's our exact schedule. Sorry, I have no tips! Violet C sleeps just about 3 hours every day.
What time does she go to bed at night? Violet G. is sleeping about 12 hours at night. Maybe it's just enough sleep for her? Nooo!! 1.5 hours is not enough "me" time. What I'll do when I have another kid and there is no "me" time, I'm not sure!!

Lately around 830 assuming she wakes up around 3pm. We always shoot for 8 but I guess we are slow? Lol

hmmm, yeah.... thats what Cam does when I know he's 'awake' and wont go back down. Just sounds like she's not super tired?! I know that sucks! Maybe try pushing it back to 1 for a day and see what happens!
Tomorrow I'll try pushing the nap a bit later to see what happens. We set it at noon because that's what time she'll be napping at DC. Oh well!
muppetinma, Andrew and Violet have obviously pitted and planned against us in their efforts to increase toddler playtime and decrease adult quiet time. Booo!!
The boys are up at 6:30ish and their nap is at 1. We need quiet time at 10 (snacks and 30min TV/book/art) but it works out well. They fall asleep between 1 and 1:30 and sleep until 3:30-4:30. ETA we do morning activities out and run them around and everything too. Lunch is at 11:30-12.

Ehhh, he's pretty happy and self-sufficient when he's awake. He'll play by himself for an hour or two at a time, if I let him, so I don't stress about not having any "me time." I spent too much time trying to get him to nap, or trying to extend his naps, that I was driving myself crazy. Once I accepted it as my new reality, it's been pretty easy.

I'm not ready for acceptance yet! I'm going to spend a bit more time in denial.
Matilda did actually consolidate her naps into a longer nap when we went to one nap, unfortunately her consolidated and now amazing-for-us nap time is the same as your terrible nap time. lol
I'm just glad 30 minute naps are behind us for the most part!
I find if we stay home in the morning or do my errands he just isn't tired enough for a long nap. If we do his stuff in the morning- go run around and tire him out then he sleeps for about 2.5 hours.
Mila did the same when she consolidated. We went from about 3 hours to about 1.5. She's eventually lengthened it to around 2 hours each day
Yes, this happened with my DS1 actually. I remember it clearly because I felt VERY slighted in my adult time, lol. It's an adjustment and I think in a few weeks V should lengthen the naps by herself. Often it takes some time for them to adjust.
