Millers baptism is in about a month and I have NO idea what to do for a favor. I don't want to do cookies or cupcakes bc we have done those for birthdays and showers. K's baptism was in the fall and we did caramel apples.
Any suggestions?
Its not quite fall but not quite summer so it is tough.
well it is a big party after the baptism. All the christenings we have been to we received favors. Nothing special - sometimes an ornament or cookie or biscotti, etc.
We gave favors because people went out of their way to come and they also brought gifts for Violet.
I get that. We have parties too (except for Thad. Poor guy. No family around here!) but parties in my family/growing up never had favors besides a kiddie treat bag.
ruby412 and I both made them for birthdays. I think I remember reading online that they last a month in a tupperware? I made them about a week before- they were pretty easy. The more sprinkles the easier since it hides imperfections.
Yep, I made them for V's first b-day party! They were pretty easy to make and got high praises, but it was sooo time consuming. Her party was on a Saturday and I made the pretzels Tues and Wed and wrapped and stickered them Thursday and Friday. I bought the melting chocolate and sprinkles at AC Moore. The toffee one was Heath bits I bought at Giant in the baking section.
Here is a pic... one is dark choc with cookies and cream topping, white choc with rainbow sprinkles and milk chocolate with Heath:
So are the favors just treats they'll take home? We don't do christenings, but it sounds like you're looking for food they'll take home with them?
I was going to suggest pretzel rods, too. Or even just covered pretzels. When we get together with my family for Christmas, we always share treats, and I make pretzels covered in almond bark with M&Ms in them. They're really easy and really good.
