My 4yo DD just finished a set of 3 private swimming lessons with a teacher she took 2 weeks of lessons with in July. Today the teacher was super frustrated because dd stops kicking when she lets go of her, presumably BC she is scared. She said "does she have ADHD?!" It took me a minute to figure out what she meant. I said no, she just turned 4!!! Would you say something to her about her question, and/or be offended? She is super young, maybe 20. I'm irritated but maybe unjustly.
I would think she's an ignorant, rude 20 y/o and find someone else.
I taught swim lessons at that age, and was probably equally ignorant (not about adhd specifically, but you get my point) but I would have never said something like that to a parent.
Thanks for the responses. Our communication has been via text and I do think I will tell her she might not want to say that to other parents. FWIW, dd listens and does as she is told during lessons but can't/won't do the kicking.
