We got a call from SIL last night and it was not good news.
She went for her NT/IPS scan yesterday and there was no heartbeat. The baby stopped growing 5 weeks ago.
Poor girl is just devastated. She'd finally gotten to a place where she was excited about the baby. She goes for a D&C tomorrow.
I'd posted before about them trying to decide whether or not to get married this year or next year (they decided next year).
I want to do something for her, but I don't know what. They live 2.5 hours away, so it'll have to be mailed/ordered. I know that they generally say not to do flowers 'cause they die and stuff, but what about a potted plant? Or just g/c for food? Or just a card?
If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them.

When this happened to a friend of mine I sent her a basket of things: some Bath and Body Works stuff, candy, a few teas that she likes, and a Willow Tree Angel. I think it was the Angel of Remembrance. I also found a really good card specific to miscarriages at Hallmark, it talked about hope and said things better than I ever could have.

I am so sorry, absolutely horrible time for them. Nothing worse than an ultrasound and no heartbeat. This happened to me between DS1 and DS2 and I think a gift card for food or PJs sound like a great idea. I was unable to cook dinner for a couple of weeks and a gift card for take out would have been nice (like someone saying it was ok not to feel up to making dinner).
