And woke up terrified. It means nothing, right? It doesn't help that yesterday my mom's friend accidentally said "the babies" and then was all "OMG, you think you are having TWINS?" and that I am already huge at 5 weeks.

It's unlikely that your dream means anything but even if it was twins, I'm sure you and mr. papie would rock it! Think of how excited Anna would be! But really, it's probably just one.
I totally thought I could be having twins this time, mainly because I was so much more exhausted in the first tri than I had ever been with the girls. Plus, yeah, the bloating starts even sooner than it did the first two times. But, no, there's just one baby in there!
I'll be anxiously awaiting the news of your first u/s though. lol.
I was going to let this thread go...until I got to this comment.
Hi, welcome to my life.
I was waiting for you to come in here... Twin discount? My college did that - BOGO tuition. No joke.
Eta: do you go over to ML much? There are some awesome moms of twins on there. I'm sure you have seen them on the moms if multiples board?
BOGO tuition would be awesome.
I do lurk on ML, so I've seen a couple of the moms of twins who I think also post on the MoM board. They've been really great about answering questions.
And hopefully you realize this, but papie - my original comment was not directed at you. Having twins as a third and a fourth I'm sure would be really hard. But like mekiakoo said - double fun

yes, sorry, I didn't mean to be offensive. We just don't really want four kids, lol. I would have loved to have twins the first or second time I think.

Aww, I'm sure you'll make it through. Honestly, I kind of hope to have twins next time around. My twin brother and I are pretty close, though a little competitive. I can't imagine how close we would be if we were the same gender.
My mom said it wasn't too bad with two babies - just a little more regimented and business-like (and she had a toddler running around). She breastfed each of us for a year. In a way things can be easier later on b/c you have the same field trips, assignments, milestones, etc. Good luck!!

I bet you're fine. I had a twin dream too - boy/girl twins, and when we were looking at the ultrasound screen, we saw that the girl was wearing a Mets hat and the boy was wearing a Yankees hat. We were more shocked that a kid of ours would be wearing a Yankees hat at all, so it didn't even phase us that they were wearing hats in the womb.
But anyway, there's only one kid inside despite the dream.
trafficgirl, I hope I didn't offend you! After I passed out, I would get excited
Nope, it was just the "Thank God" and "two daycare payments" comments that got me. Which I realize I may be sensitive about this, but it just came across as really...thoughtless. And made me feel shitty.
And yes, I get my feelers hurt by random internet strangers and should probably go put on my big girl panties.

I vote you are only growing one person and this was just a dream/worry
Or if I'm totally off base, well, when you have 4 kids and 2 parents, then there's always someone to sit next to on the rides at Disneyland, because, even numbers and such, right? No one feels left out!!!
I think in this case it's ok to feel a bit sensitive by random internet strangers' comments, though I'm sure it wasn't ill intended on their part at all. Your pregnancy was a surprise to you, and so having there be two in there was tough, I remember.
What's the update on the car? Didn't you say something about 2 carseats not fitting right? Was that you?? Feel better.

Yup, that was me. I got in touch with a local car seat expert who made me feel loads better. Basically it boils down to people often think car seats won't fit in their cars, but when they're installed correctly by a technician they can often fit. She gave us some recommendations and we're going to get one of those and have her install them for us.
We're still going to have to get a larger SUV type car because otherwise we wouldn't be able to fit anything except maybe a stroller in the trunk, but at least we won't have only one car to take with the kiddos. It would have made daycare drop offs and pick ups (when the time comes) a lot more difficult.

Oh this is good news I would say! Not ideal I'm sure, but how great that the car seat lady was helpful and such.
