So, I have it on my right foot and i have to rest......sucks. I teach 3 fitness classes a week that I have to put on hold right now and do other exercises that don't force me to bear heavy weight on my foot.
Just wondering if anyone else has had to deal w/ this and what exercise did you turn to as a substitute?? I bought a membership to a local university's pool, so I'll be swimming in a few wks.
My dad does. He had surgery for it a couple of years ago, but it still bothers him a lot. He still runs when he can and bikes. He also plays softball and, weirdly, his feet feel better in cleats than in regular shoes.
When he was diagnosed, I looked up some info and found online that several people said their feet feel better in five fingers. It seems like shoes that have some pressure between the toes seems to help. Maybe google five fingers and morton's neuroma.
Good luck! I know from talking to him that it is very uncomfortable.
Our Podiatrists will do injections for neuromas....but I have no idea what the circumstances are in order to get one, also every patient, every situation, is different, so no guarantee that thats even an option for any/everyone. GL!
I am wearing orthotic sandals and inserts in my shoes to help alleviate pain while walking/standing. My workouts are extremely light and next week, after school is over (I'm a teacher), I'll be able to hit the pool---but I haven't swam for real for years.
My podiatrist is meeting with me again in 2 weeks after these 4 weeks of rest to explore the possibility of injections.
