I'm a member at Planet Fitness (hello, $10/month!) and usually just use it for a treadmill when it's hot... like today.
But they do have this "30 minute workout" area that is separate from the main gym. It's a gimmick but basically has a circle of equipment that you knock out over 30 minutes. 1 minute at each machine, 30 second rest, then minute of stairstep/cardio, next machine for minute, 30 second rest, one minute machine, rinse and repeat until you've finished the circuit. Lift, cardio, lift, cardio...
I haven't tried this yet because I normally just go there over lunch to knock out a few miles but I'm curious if anyone has experience? Does this offer a good cross-training workout or is it kind of silly? I need structure but feel intimidated by most machines.
I don't go to Planet Fitness, but usually those have a good range of workouts!
Machines usually scare me too because I feel like people will watch me and think I'm doing it wrong. Most machines have instructions with photos on them. I actually LOVE machines now. I normally do 10-30 min of cardio and 30+ minutes on the machines. I love feeling stronger
