I just wanted to AW our new decks. We still need to build a pergola above the octagon section in the backyard, but that'll get done in time. I love being married to a handyman.
I haven't PIP'd on proboards yet, so hopefully this works.
Wow that looks awesome! I love the pergola deck combo and a second one in the back will provide some nice shade. I'm sure you'll enjoy that backyard this summer. You'll just have to make sure you keep up with sealing it every year so the PT lumber stays looking nice.

Awesome job!!! Is this a one man band job? Hard to believe! By the way I noticed the roof finishes right at the edge of the walls. This is not so good for the house because it makes it easy for the rain to enter in the walls and eventually rotten the walls. Its would be good idea if your DH can extend the roof 1/2-1 ft so the walls remain safe for years to come. Enjoy your summer with this beautiful deck!
Thank you, ladies! DH did the majority of the work by himself, but had some help from his Dad. We do plan on staining it in the very near future - probably this weekend. What would you all suggest? Should we stain it, or paint it?
Also, thank you to kellygordon, for letting me know about the roof. I'll let DH know. Living in NM, we don't get a lot of rain, but I'm sure that over time we will be able to see the effects if it doesn't get taken care of.
