I've had the Fitbit for about a month now and love it. It helps me stay on track and keep motivated. My biggest problem with working out in the past was that I wouldn't see any progress as fast as I hoped and I'd quit. I like that my Fitbit keeps me accountable and tells me how I'm doing on a day to day basis. Totally worth the $100, if you ask me.
I love my fitbit. It was a good wake up call telling me I am not moving as much as I thought I was. You can also sync it with Myfitnesspal.com and it will adjust calorie intake for you. For $100 I think it is worth every penny.
I always thought FitBit < BodyBugg / BodyMediaFit but maybe I am wrong... I thought FitBit was more of a fancy pedometer where BodyBugg / BodyMediaFit track your sleep etc.

on the fitbit website it sys it can track sleep. you wear a bracelet or something - I am also interested in one... but not sure.. I really don't NEED one, but I am really curious about the calories I actually burn during the day.
I absolutely LOVED my fitbit. I actually lost one then bought another. It was an amazing tool for me to realize how active I thought I was vs. actually active. I believe it was a huge help in losing weight. I loved it until my damn dog ate it. Eventually I will probably get another one, but with everything else going on I can't justify buying one. Plus I'm as active as I can possibly be under the circumstances.
I have a FitBit and Body Media Fit (which I don't use). The Body media (also body bugg) from what I understand take better actual measurements from your body (sensors that touch your arm). The FitBit is using an accelerometer to measure steps and calculate calories burned based on that. It doesn't take into accout your actual heart rate, temperature, etc. I didn't find the sleep tracking with the Fitbit to be particularly helpful - you wear it on your wrist and every time you move, it says you're awake. For me, it was saying I was up 25+ times a night, which I know wasn't exactly true. For me, I think the Body Media is more accurate, but I'm more likely to actually use the FitBit because I can clip it on under my clothes. That along with calorie counting has really made me more aware of what I eat and how much I actually move.
