I called my doctor and spoke to a nurse who said brown discharge is normal but she is still going to have me talk to my doctor later this afternoon. I don't have any severe cramping-just the normal stuff I've been having since finding out about the pregnancy. I hate that my symptoms come and go because it freaks me out that something is wrong!

I had brown spotting 2 different times. Like pp said, it is usually old blood if it is brown. My doctor and nurses still checked up on me, so that was nice.

Brown blood is old blood and it can be really common early on in pregnancy. I had some brown blood after my transvag u/s, but it wasn't anything to be concerned about. It's good that your doctors are checking you out for peace of mind!
Yes, I wouldn't worry but I would still speak with your doctor because it will help you to hear it from her! I had it several times, nothing ever came of it.

Thanks everyone! There isn't as much of it now as there was this morning when I first noticed it so that is calming my nerves a bit. When I got into work, I was on edge and ended up telling my boss just in case I needed to run out the door. So much for waiting to tell work!

I spoke with my doctor. She confirmed that everything sounds fine. As long as the spotting doesn't turn red like a period and/or my cramping isn't the worse cramping ever, I'm okay. She does keep saying that I'm in "early pregnancy" which is kind of annoying, considering how long I've waited to be pregnant. Yes, I know it is early but I'm not any less pregnant, right?
