I was told this was normal, but if anyone has this too and can commiserate...
Last week when I found out baby was head down, I noticed I was getting more pressure and sharp stabbing pains in my vag/pelvic area any time I went from laying down, to sitting up, or rolling over in bed...pretty much when I move "dramatically".
It's effing horrible. I have had the best pregnancy ever. This is the worst thing to happen so far lol.
I'm told it's baby moving down, pelvis preparing for birth, baby's head pressing on a nerve, etc etc. I know it's a "good sign" that labor is approaching (no fucking duh, I only have a few weeks left) but why why whhhyyyy???

i slept like CRAP last night. ugh. I haven't had pregnancy insomnia at all yet, but before bed my hips and back just ached so bad it hurt to lay there. Then trying to get myself out of bed to go to the bathroom 4 times was painful and awkward too. Then yay it was 5 am and time to get up. I'm so so so over this business and I have 2-4 weeks to go if I go overdue. My coworker had her baby this weekend, 4 days early, and a friend of mine also had a baby this weekend at 38/3 so I'm holding out some hope I don't have to do this for very many more days.
And I also have had the easiest pregnancy ever so I'm annoyed that I'm complaining.
Is that what people refer as a lightening crotch??
I've had some RLPs but nothing bad until last night when I stupidly reached over my head while laying down to grab a book. I actually screamed and withered in pain for a few minutes. Lol. After that, the baby wouldn't stop kicking. Maybe he was startled by my scream.
Maybe??? I always thought lightening crotch was when you got kicked in the vag by your LO which thankfully never happened to me, but maybe I misunderstood. I know when you feel these pains at this stage and the baby is possibly dropping it's called "Lightening" so maybe you're right and lightening crotch is the slang version lol?
I am having that but I just don't think baby is head down so I have no idea what it's from. Or maybe she decided to get with the program and turn from breech!
I haven't been sleeping well at all. Baby keeps rolling around, and I get a lot of BH at night. Plus I woke up leaking A LOT yesterday so now I'm all paranoid I'm going to wake up with a wet shirt everyday lol
I've been getting both lightning crotch and severe round ligament pain, so I feel your pain, literally.
My complaint is that I've been up since 6am because I couldn't fall back asleep after the girls came into our room asking me to turn on their music so they could go back to sleep until their clock turns green (an hour later). This has been happening almost daily since we moved Kate into Em's room a week ago. IT NEEDS TO STOP! I can never fall back asleep afterwards, and I really need to be stockpiling sleep while I still can. I told H that it'll be his job once the baby is here, but really I am such a light sleeper and wake up anyway that it doesn't make sense for me to wake him up so that we're both sleep-deprived. Ugh.

Ahhh so it IS lightening crotch. Lovely.
Ok peeps, what do you do to ease it? Anything? It's kind of killing me here...I know I'm being a big baby. I'm still going for walks, cleaning house, running errands etc, so I'm not being a total wuss but this is like...making me walk as though I have a stick up my ass! hahaha

Yup. Lightening crotch. And as far as I know, there's nothing you can do to make it better. Except maybe try to not make sudden movements?
I also couldn't sleep last night. I mean, my sleep has been crappy for the last few months, with aching hips and waking up to pee 3-4 times. But I usually can still fall asleep without issue. I seriously went to bed at 10:30 and was still awake at 1:30. Now that's just dumb. My body was tired, but I just couldn't shut my brain off I guess.
