Anyone get spotting in early pregnancy and it be ok? I am 4w 3d, so very early and I had a little spotting this morning when I went to the restroom. No cramping. When I had my miscarriage, it started with cramping, and then spotting. When I was pregnant with ds I never had any spotting. I guess the previous miscarriage is what is making me nervous.
So I am just curious if this happened to anyone and everything turned out to be ok.
UPDATE: First, thank you ladies for all your thought and reassuring words yesterday. The last time I ttc it was with my ex-h 4 years ago and I miscarried and a month later found out he was cheating on me. So it was a very bad time for me. When I saw the brown tinged mucus when I wiped yesterday that's all I could think of. The NP said 30% of normal pregnancies have some spotting and didn't even classify it as a "threatened miscarriage" so I am seeing that as a positive.
I have had a tiny bit of cramping, but more like pressure or cramps that turn out to be gas or that kind of thing. But of course because I am so nervous, every little twitch makes me nervous. I am trying to keep busy at work today (for the first time ever I am thankful that I have 3 hours of back to back meetings this afternoon) so I don't over analyze. My period would have been due sometime between yesterday and tomorrow, so I think I will also feel better after that time frame passes.
Good luck to my BFP twins who also had some spotting yesterday. FX for us all!

It could be from lots of different things. Implantation, sex, or old blood. I would call your doctor and see if they want to see you, they might do an exam and blood work and have you come back in for a repeat blood draw, since it's pretty early to see anything on an ultrasound right now. It's great you aren't having any cramping with the spotting. How much is there, and what color? Hugs!

Yes, with both pregnancies. I spotted before testing both times -- the spotting was actually what made me test because I just thought it was an early period ... and then it stopped. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I spotted on and off for the first 7-8 weeks with no real explanation ever given. This time, I only spotted in the days leading up to my BFP (so right around 4 weeks), and it included a gush of red blood. I suppose it was implantation.
I know how stressful it is to see any spotting, but I have now had 1.5 successful pregnancies with spotting in the first trimester.

Doc had me come in. I went to the bathroom a second time (after I saw the spotting) and nothing that time. No cramping either.
Someone asked about the color - light brown.
They are going to do an ultrasound because they said in a normally progressing pg they'd see the start of a sac at this point. I don't know about bloodwork. Ill post again when I know more.
It sounds like residual implantation spotting. Hope everything's okay. I had some spotting at 5-7 weeks. It turned out to be a small subchoroinic hematoma and resolved by 8 weeks. My dr said spotting is very common.

Thanks for the good thoughts.
I'm glad that it stopped, and that they are bringing you in for a u/s to see the beginning of the sac (sorry, forgot about that, hah).
I had spotting very early (maybe 5 weeks?). It was very light and turned out okay, even if it did scare me a lot and send me to a few extra doctor's visits. Hope you are okay.
I had spotting early on and am holding my baby right now hope everything turns out ok! I know how scary it can be though, as I also had a previous miscarriage. Sorry you're going through that.
Was it bright red or brown blood? Brown blood is totally fine (old blood) and even red blood is fine. I had some bleeding around 6-7 weeks and everythign is still just fine. If it keeps up, call the doctor. And keep us updated! ((hugs))

So they decided against the ultrasound because it is so early and with DS we saw nothing at 6w3d a d it stressed me out so we don't want to add stress. She looked at my cervix which looked close and showed no signs of spotting. I did get that same light brown streak in some mucus when I went to the bathroom after the exam, but then again no more. And it was so little I had to be looking for it to see it.
Still no cramping.
My period would have been due today or tomorrow. She said timing wise and based on the no cramping and how little it was it could very well be implantation related. I told her I was embarrassed that I called if it is something that silly and she said any spotting in early pregnancy is scary and worth calling about so not to feel that way as I did the right thing.
They did a blood draw and I have a second scheduled for Wednesday to make sure hcg is doubling. They did a pee test in the office and I told them I didn't know how accurate it would be since I had just peed 30 mi utes earlier and I get such light positives even when I hold pee for an hour and a half or longer. They said they wanted to try anyway - and it showed positive which gives me hope.
Now I'm at home resting. I have an appt with ultrasound on the 29th unless something happens sooner (fx not). I'm fine to go back to work since I have a desk job, but no e refuse and pelvic rest (sorry dh) until after my appt on the 29.
A lot of posters mentioned brown blood...but what about pink? Formerlyak and I are just about twinsies (I think I am 4w2d), and this morning when I wiped, it was tinted slightly pink. Wearing a pantiliner, but clean so far.

Two days after my BFP (I believe I was also 4w2d), I also wiped away some very light pink. It just happened that once and so far, things are okay!
I had pink spotting at 6w5d (from sex, most likely) and 14 weeks (they think my placenta may have been passing over my cervix - it moved from posterior to anterior), and baby girl is just fine. Pelvic rest both times, lots of water, no heavy lifting, sitting with my feet up, etc.
