We found out Saturday we're having a boy and I'm so excited.
Also every weekend I feel like I've been run over by a truck yesterday I felt achy from head to stomach area. Apparently this is normal but man it sucks.
I had a fantastic weekend. I'm wiped out from it, but it was fun.
BBQ with friends of DH's from college and their 2 month old son on Saturday made me want my outside baby right this second! And the momma looks amazing, she's skinnier then before pregnancy I think! It was hilarious to watch DH and his friend attempt to put the baby bjorn carrier on DH's friend; it was straight out of Old School, each had a beer in hand, baby was laying on the couch giving them the side eye lol
Yesterday DH cooked me a delish breakfast then I went shopping with my bestie and I came home to a dinner cooked for me, and dishes running in the dishwasher, no messes...BLISS I tell you. I almost cried at how nice it was to relax. I do all the cooking really, because I enjoy it and I'm better at it overall, but omg was it nice to be taken care of in that way. :-)
I have been having some seriously intense BH. I get cramps from them after. Apparently my body is gearing up! It doesn't worry me but I am going to mention it to the dr on Thursday.
As long as she doesn't come until September because I'm not ready lol

How exciting for you! My office won't do the anatomy scan until 20 weeks, I am getting so anxious with anticipation! I wish I could find out earlier.
I'm so incredibly exhausted today. I managed to drag my butt out of bed to meet with my running group this morning, and did a slow 2.5 (?) and I've been paying for it ALL DAY. This is my last week of vacation and I have to go back to work next week, and I have no idea how I'm going to cope.

I'm hungry but eating makes me nauseous. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon, and childbirth class tonight. I just want a nap!
This weekend I got some cleaning done. Our bedroom was the project- everything that is currently in the baby's room is going into our bedroom if it can't be put in the garage, and most of it can't. Just boxes from our move last year that I still haven't went through. Loosing our office sucks, especially when we're getting a desk that doesn't have really any storage to put stuff in it, so I need to get rid of things as I go through everything. I'll be investing in some of those 3 drawer plastic cart thingys!
For something that truly feels random (or at least coincidental):
My brother, who lives in NYC, just forwarded me an email about a reunion for our London grade school, which was sent to him by his lawyer, who works at my old NYC firm (although we never met), but in the Chicago office.
It's a small world after all. It's a small world after all. It's a small world after all. It's a small, small world.

I had a splitting headache ALL weekend! Grrr.... At least my nursery rug didn't arrive, so I didn't feel like I was missing out on picking paint colors and whatnot. And I had a good excuse to lay on the couch and watch Breaking Bad reruns.
At this point, I'm just used to throwing up in the morning. It's NBD, I just hope it happens at a convenient time.
Non-PG vent: I really dislike our Catholic Church. They phone in the music and messages, and a lot of the people just seem to show late and leave early like they're checking off an attendance card. DH grew up in this church and he's upset by it too. We've tried other Catholic churches in the area and they don't seem much better. We both love our Baptist church, but I know going to Cathloic service is very important to DH. I just miss going to the Baptist church when it's Catholic's turn
We celebrated our anniversary on Saturday by going to the beach and out to dinner. It was low key and nice. We also got most of our registry done but we are still going to add a few more things and clean it up a bit.
Oh and tons of yard work. I am so sore and DH did most of it!

namasteak I am so jealous! I want a minivan SO badly, but its not in the budget right now. The car I have now is in great shape, and is roomy enough for two kids, but I covet a Honda Odyssey or Nissan Quest so much!
@mrsteste Its getting to the scary stage, huh? As impatient as I have been the last few weeks, last night I realized that I only have 4 more days of being a family of 3. (Less than four days now!!) I am so excited and anxious, and simultaneously terrified. What if I can't handle two kids??!? I'm gettin' skeered.
My random: my BFF is due the day after me, and she's in labor today!!! I'm SO excited for her. Its been fun being pregnant together this whole time. She lives a few hours away and so we've been keeping in touch extra the last 40 weeks. Its their first, and I'm just SO excited. Squeeee!

I have my anatomy scan this afternoon, and I am so freaking nervous. We already know the sex, but I just want to hear that he's healthy. Two more hours...

blindyswife- 4 days, wow! So exciting! You are going to do just fine.
I went to the hospital yesterday because I was in a lot of pain. Felt like extreme gas but nothing I did made it better. I ended up getting fluids and an internal. Everything is good but it was scary. Now I know exactly when I am contracting, so that is a plus from this experience. Today I am taking it easy. I don't know how I am going to manage when I have to go back to work next week. Ugh.

I know many people don't feel any movement until 20 or so weeks, but I'm starting to get a little anxious.. fine, a lot anxious. I called the girls that work in the cardiologist down the hall from me to see if they would do an ultrasound. They humored me and did one so I could see her moving all around.
If you zoom in you can see that the elephants & giraffes have cute patterns on them. Idk about removing with zero problems but we can always paint if some of the paint is pulled off.
Stingyshark I didn't have any obvious movement until after 20 weeks. I felt much more obvious movement after 24 or 25 weeks for sure. I tried not to worry too, but I felt very relieved when she started dancing around in there regularly.
I had the nicest weekend. H got me a massage for my birthday and it was awesome. I highly recommend a prenatal massage to everyone! I also got a lovely b-day dinner out on Saturday.
I am happy today, especially for a monday, because I have a doctor's appointment and that means heartbeat time!

I ate lunch not that long ago and now am getting kicked to all hell. And I'm pretty sure a couple of them were at my right ovary because there were several sharp pains in that area, then the kicks started elsewhere.
I do not appreciate the babies thinking my organs are fun punching bags.

My allergies are going nuts today. I spent a lot of time outside this weekend so I am sure that did it. I feel awful. I gagged on a banana this morning. I didn't feel well when I woke up and I thought I just needed to eat something. I went to the Jay-Z/JT concert last night! It was amazing.

You have an anterior placenta, right? Did they tell you when you might begin to feel? I think it can go on for much much much longer with anterior placenta
My Dr hasn't said anything about it - When I went to an ultrasound they mentioned it. My next appt isn't until the 27th. I'll ask him then, if I haven't felt anything.
H just had a meeting with his boss and she asked how i was doing, so he said i've been sick but pregnancy-wise i'm great. and she said "i'm so excited for the baby to get here! my girlfriend and i were talking and we were saying how little black babies are the cutest babies because they're made of chocolate. you just wanna take a bite out of their cheeks!!"
what. the. fuck.
in other words, i finally tried that lavanilla deodorant and it is fabulous!

Hmmmm.
Well, *I* taste like vanilla in the winter (when I'm whitest) and cinnamon swirl in the summer (when I'm tan). I change flavors. Beat THAT!
::hair toss::
(p.s. You H's boss is socially awkward to say the least...)

i hope you got great news at your scan!!
Thank you -- we did! Everything looked perfect, and he's measuring right on target. And he's definitely a he.
