I posted this earlier but the Internet must have eaten it. Anyways, I bought a polar FT7 on a whim this morning, But I am having a hard time finding any reviews that compare it to to the FT4.
What kind of HRM do you have? Do you like it? Talk to me.

I have the FT7 .. I like it just fine; it tracks what I want it to track & I haven't had any problems w/ the heart rate monitor. I occasionally see posts on my IG feed of someone that's having problems w/ her HRM strap, I think she wears an FT4.

I like my FT4. I've had it almost 3 years and it just starting acting a little weird, but usually only when it's not wet enough (or I'm not sweaty enough).
I have an FT4 and it does everything I need. I just wanted to be able to track my hr and estimated calories burned. I can't really remember why I picked the 4 over the 7.
Unfortunately, I've had a lot of issues with the signal cutting out. When I finally emailed them about the issue they said they'd send out a replacement transmitter the next day. It's been less than a week so it hasn't arrived yet but I'm quite happy with their customer service.
I have had the FT7 for 4 years now. I have had to replace the chest strap once, but other than that it's been great. I bought that one because I swim and I needed the waterproof function. I've been very happy with it.

Is there any way to have it track everyday activities, or only specific training?
Like track a run, and have it be different than a walk (for example)?
No - if I want to keep track of different things, I just restart it for each new activity. It won't distinguish between running/swimming/biking for me.
