And I went out to the velodrome last night all by myself.
And I was the only girl.
And I got a lot of nice things said to me by the guys for coming out by myself and doing a hard workout.
So yay me.
(Then last night I had a dream Jens Voight wanted to ride 125 miles with me then ride me, if you catch my drift. I'm not sure which part of the dream I should be more proud of...Also, I've probably been spending too much time on my bike lately.)
I don't have anything H&F AW worthy to share with the class, so I will AW my pretty purple shoes instead. Which, btw, I bought for less than half price.
Im impressed with myself at the pool, with both my speed (im not fast, but im not so far behind) and my endurance. Im enjoying it SO much. Yay me!
(im still scared of my bike though)
This is mine too! I love swimming, and I am pleasantly surprised at how well it's coming back to me. I am not fast by any stretch of the imagination, but I have a goal of a 30 min mile, and it's not terribly far off. I also just found out that I can take private lessons for $10/lesson at work, so I'll sign up for those next week.
Yay, you guys! I just got back on track for tracking my calories via MFP (my eating habits have been terrible all summer and I have gained 10-15 pounds) and I have finished just below my allotted number of calories all week and it hasn't been that bad. I have really stepped it up with not drinking any pop and increasing my fresh fruit and veggie intake. Its amazing how much easier healthy eating is when you hold yourself accountable.
I'm signed up for my 2nd spin class of the week tonight, and I already ran my 11 miler early this morning. I won't be doing evening classes once the kids start school and sports practice, so I'm taking full advantage this week.

I have been doing masters swim super early in the morning when some of the guys on my team go. They didn't really know me before but have realized that I can hold my own in the pool. It feels really awesome to be able to keep up with them or beat them in some cases. I am getting to know some of them better which helps a lot since they are part of the group that is doing IM FL.

As of this afternoon, I will have swum (swam?) more miles in August than I did in ALL of July - 20.7 so far! And with the exception of some DOMS from a baaaad strength class on Monday (bad as in, how it went for me, not the class itself), I feel AMAZING.
I've been skating a lot lately and my lutz has gone from shitty to pretty solid. I've also been making good progress on my axel and doubles.
katinthehat, runclt, finallykrisb (not pictured) and I went ice skating a few weeks ago for runclt's birthday. This about sums up our experience (and it was pre-alcohol, lol). I win Photobomb of the Year
I am running a 2 mile race Friday PM (with the stroller) and can't wait to pass up some non-stroller runners Preferably, big muscle-y guys! That would definitely give me a boost of confidence!

I'm growing a baby. HAHA. I'm totally JUST KIDDING. (i mean I am, but..)
I've got NOTHING H&F happening.. I cleaned out the junk drawers in our house, and washed/dried/folded all the laundry. BELIEVE ME, THAT is progress. Today I'm planning on cleaning my closet, dear Lord, it's a horrifying mess.

We should do these more often - great work everyone!
I was going to do an easy 3.5 mile run at lunch, but felt decent so I decided to do my 3 mile goal race pace run instead and my times were better than my goal - 8:17, 7:58, 8:01.

Nice! The idea of a velodrome scares me. It's probably good we don't have one nearby, so I don't have to feel like a wus!
