I usually book through a website that has no penalty cancellations or offers trip insurance for a low amount like $10, but I just booked a stay directly with the resort. There is a 50% deposit which is refunded if the trip is cancelled within 60 days, but if you cancel within 60 days of the scheduled arrival, there is no refund AND they charge the other 50%. My main concern is a last minute illness, especially of my kid who is in daycare and gets sick a lot.
Any recommendations for where I can get inexpensive trip insurance that would cover for cancellation due to illness? This isn't an expensive trip and we're talking about $800 for the hotel, but it's still $800 that I don't want to lose.

I always use TravelGuard and probably always will, mainly b/c I've had to cancel a trip with them very last minute and they were awesome about refunding with no hassle.
Others on here typically recommend insuremytrip.com
