I posted before about how far to take a kitchen remodel. Thought I would update with PIPs!
Before:
After:
Other side -
That stand-alone cabinet that makes the fridge not look so weird? It was in the clearance section at Lowe's for $20 DOLLARS.
Rough breakdown - New cabinet - $20 New countertops (off-the-shelf laminate from Lowe's) - about $150 (needed one 8-ft and one 4-ft) Subway tile backsplash - about $50 Paint (walls, trim & cabinets) - $50 Floors (off-the-shelf wood-look laminate tile) - about $100 Labor was a few hundred (worth every penny) Total was about $600 for BIG impact! Very happy.
Other major update was the front of the house - this is a "in-progress" pic but you can see that the porch floor was a very blah light gray, house was white. No focal point.
After - painted the (new...$$$) porch floor a dark charcoal, as well as the wood that wraps around, to contrast with the freshly-painted white. New black shutters, house numbers, and painted the front door bright red.
I would live there! Nice job! I can't see, what did you end up doing in the weird space by the stove?
I forgot to take a pic of it! Will do next time. The existing larger wall of countertops was about 7.5 feet, and the off-the-shelf countertops came in 8-foot sections. So we extended the countertops flush up against the wall, and ultimately may put a small amount of shelving underneath. Will page you when I update.
