Self-indulgent whine ahead...
So, I'm almost 19 weeks now, but I seriously don't look it. I don't know if it's because I have a longer torso or I just tend to gain weight all over normally. I'm up about 10 lbs, but it looks like it's all in my breasts.
It's so frustrating. I felt the baby kick today for the first time, but I don't look pregnant! *pouts and stamps foot*
I just started to look obviously pregnant to people. For a few weeks I could tell people were sizing me up trying to figure out if I was pregnant or fat, lol.
When you look pregnant, that also means your distended belly throws off your balance, walking becomes waddling and moving becomes more of a chore. I understand your excitement but it will come in time. I promise.
I have a long torso and started out with a thicker middle, and I swear it's just NOW at 23 weeks that people are noticing my bump. I've wanted to yell several times about my stomach being mostly flat pre-pregnancy, lol, so I know it's frustrating. 19 weeks was when I popped the first time, and I think I had another little pop this past week. Your bump is coming, I promise!
I thought I didn't have a bump or look pregnant at all, but some of the parents at summer school were congratulating me at 17 weeks so apparently people could tell. When I finally told some of my students at 20 weeks, they said "oh yeah we could tell in June."

I am definitely showing if you know what I used to look like, but I think strangers are still unsure, depending on what I'm wearing. My stomach has always been relatively flat (not washboard or anything) and my hips/thighs bigger, so the protruding belly is a big giveaway. In certain shirts, it looks like a bump, but in baggier ones, I just look pudgy. I also am carrying a fair amount of junk in the trunk, so that makes it harder to tell for sure.
(I have a long torso. However, because of my waist's shape, how I gain pregnancy weight and how I carry, I show immediately. Last pregnancy my father mentioned that I looked more pregnant at 5-6 months than my mom did at full term. I thought he'd forgotten until I saw photos. It was true.)
