So I have about 6 months on my Mizuno Wave Inspire 9's, I am estimating about 250-300 miles. I switched tracking devices and things got screwey so I am not sure of exact mileage. But I used them to train for my first 10 miler in May and ever since then. I am assuming I will be needing a new pair soon? I am training for my first half in November so I want to get them before then and allow enough time to get some wear on them. This was my first real pair of running shoes and I was fitted at a local store after running about six months in a pair of Nike Free's that killed my lower back. So do I just stick with the same shoe? Newer model if there even is one? Go back and get fitted again? I wasn't sure if your body and the way you run changes over time now that I am running more (and better?) than I was before, if that makes sense. Help a sister out, thanks!
Here's what I'd do. Take the Inspires with you to your LRS and ask them to check out the wear pattern. If it's good, ask to try on the latest model of Inspires and a couple others that are comparable. Try them all on and see which feel best. Some people stick with the same shoe and some people change every time, there's no right or wrong way to do it. Just make sure whatever shoe you get feels good (the less you notice the shoe on your foot, the better) and you get it in enough time to test it out before the race. I would definitely do this sometime in the next month . HTH, good luck!
