So, I finally got these bathmats that I call feet fitted for shoes. They recommended Arial by Brooks. I like them, and they're much more supportive than what I was running in before, even if they slightly remind me of orthopedic shoes. :-P
My question is: I can feel different leg muscles being worked, and they're actually quite a bit heavier than my old running shoes. So, my legs get tired a little bit faster than before. Has anyone else had this issue? Did you have to build back up to your distance when you got different shoes? Any recommendations on strenghening my legs?
I HATED those shoes. Felt like bricks on my feet. But yes, I did feel different muscles for the first few runs, but since I was new to running anyway, there wasn't much building up to them I had to do. When I did go for my next pair of shoes, I stepped down a level in control and started wearing the new ones when I did my speed workouts and the Ariels for longer runs. Then ditched the Ariels all together. My foot may still roll in some, but I have no pain or any problems caused by it so I feel good about the switch.
