No, but I am not charming and have no ability to flirt or feign interest in people. I think some people are really good and hiding their contempt for the customers (or they honestly don't have it to begin with). I am not good at that. I would be obvious I was annoyed by all the men and, therefore, I'd make no money.
What about waitressing? Like, not at a strip club?
I'm just speaking hypothetically. Say that you tried to find a job a waitressing and couldn't but your kid was starving and you needed money immediately. To be an exotic dancer all you have to do is the find the right club for your clientele/body type, and dance.
But, you also have to pay a steep cover price to the house to get in the door.
When I was in grad school 15 years ago, my friends that stripped had to pay 40$ per head for that privilege. By comparison, entrance fee for a customer was $4, a lap dance was 6$ and admission to the VIP lounge was 20$.
Unless this is no longer the norm? But if you need money immediately, do you have 40$ (obv much more now) to go to work?

I would do whatever I had to do to support my family. If I truly had no other options, yes I'd strip. No one wants to see these stretch marks so I might start out naked and then people would pay me to put more clothes on. Reverse stripping, if you will.
If it came down to my pride or my kid eating it wouldn't really be a question.
In actuality I don't know if I could do it with the twin skin.
Though maybe I could find a way to sexily introduce it to the dance or something. Like as a waist-scarf?
I was thinking I would need a spanx bikini. Like when Kristi Alley went on Oprah in a bikini but had on spanx and you could totally tell, but hey, it worked.
I waitressed in a strip club for a couple of nights when I was 19. I don't think I could be a stripper, it just doesn't fit my shy, awkward personality. But if I was more outgoing and in better shape, yes, I think I would do it.
If I was desperate enough, I'd also consider being a phone sex operator or a cam girl.
Oh now see, this, THIS I would totally do if I couldn't find something else.
You lose a lot of dignity stripping. Also, think of your future. Do you plan on doing something in the professional world in the future? Stuff like this can come back to bite you on the butt. There are reals jobs out there. Have you tried INDEED.com?
If I had to choose between my dignity and providing a safe, comfortable and healthy home for me and my kid - I'd go with the latter.
It takes a lot out of you. I have friends that are still in the business and they will most likely never have anything else to show for their life. The money grabs you and you get hooked. Of course if she has no other way to take care of herself and her kid, go for it. BUT, I would explore every other option first.
There are too many variables to really answer this "hypothetically" - if I was young, sexy enough to work in a nice place, and really had NO other options... sure.
Right now, at 37, after having twins, with my education... no.
I'm seriously debating using my phone sex voice as a phone sex operator
I can't lie, I have crazy high arches (my feet don't touch the ground in the middle when I'm standing) and I've contemplated starting up a foot fetish site. lol

I'd consider it, but I'd be afraid of what they're not telling me goes on. The drug world/any shady world freaks me out. I can't even gamble. But I love to dance and I really don't care about clothes and bodies.
But in my current life - no. Especially in my current area. Can you imagine stripping for someone you know?
LOL. No. Not with this body, especially. I'd find other jobs.
Also, and not the point, but there is a really shady and seedy side of stripping. There's a lot of abuse that takes place and it can be pretty damn dangerous.
IF I didn't have two left feet and it was a big city like L.A. Or Vegas, sure. In a town smaller than those, not a chance. I've talked to a few strippers here in NC and I know I made more than them waitressing at the local sports bar on a Fri or Sat.

Even if I could convince myself to TRY stripping, I am almost positive that I would get up to the stage, walk out, and then have a complete fucking meltdown as my mind went into "holyfuckingshit, I'm going to be sexually assaulted by these creepers" mode, before bolting for the door and crying in a corner for a few days. I get extremely uncomfortable when men I don't know look at me like I'm a piece of ass. I couldn't stand half naked in a room in front of a bunch of men with that look in their eyes. I just couldn't.
I think it would be fun. I run a spray ran business and on Friday mornings we spray at a local strip club. The girls are all super sweet. A lot if them actually are in college and the other half are single moms. Some girls just do stage work and no lap dances. So they never really come in contact with the customers. I could totally do that. The stuff they do on the pole is amazing.
I hate people and I'd be fired before my clothes came off for punching someone.
Hooters I could do, they make good money if you have a good location. Bunch of my friends worked in Dallas at the downtown location. I could do it, they wouldn't hire me now. Lol

My friend was a dancer for a long time.
She made a lot of money and was able to put herself through college. She did quit for awhile at the request of a boyfriend, but didn't make nearly as much money and went back to it.
She now teaches English as a Foreign Language.
I don't think it's a shameful thing. I went to see her dance on several occasions and she not only was really good at it, but she really enjoyed it.

I wouldn't think you would make that money doing stage work. I think lap dances and VIP rooms are where the money's at.
Like I said, I worked at a strip club for a couple nights as a waitress. The worst part of the job was cleaning up when the club closed. There were used condoms on the floor.
Some of the shit that went down there was pretty nasty.
I think it depends on where you are and the club.
My friend made a ton of money just doing stage work. However, she did have to play up to people that she ordinarily wouldn't wanted to have play up to. A lot of skeevy guys were return visitors.
