Now that I have been better at alternating sides when breathing, my ears hurt while swimming. It's fine that they get water in them, I use Swim Ear at home, it drains, everything is good. But now, often it's actually painful during the swim.
What is this?
Is it time to get ear plugs?
What is the kind that has been recommended on here?
Mine sometimes hurt when the water is cold. Shaking the water out and keeping going is fine w/ me, it usually stops bothering me after a while. I have never found war plugs to work 100%, and I'd rather have normal water in my ears than a tiny bit. So annoying.

It could be from your ears getting different pressure on them as you turn your head each way. Like Susie, wax plugs didn't work for me but the doc's keep everything out (and you can still hear!)
But yes, it's also best to go see your doctor just for a quick look first (especially if the drops burn or hurt at all!)

Omg! If the drops are hurting going in, get thee to a doctor stat! I put those drops in my ear once not knowing I had a ruptured ear drum. Worst pain ever!!!
