I say this out of curiosity rather than judgment or personal interest in making a similar purchase:
Where on earth did you buy kangaroo?
I'm pretty sure it came from Sprouts since that is the only place I have ever seen it. But I have no recollection of every purchasing it since I have no idea what to do with it! DH went to the grocery store with me last week (a rare occurrence) so I bet he put it in the cart.
LOL. I wouldn't guess kangaroo recipes are easy to come by. Is it gamey? I wonder if you could do something with it that you might do with buffalo or ostrich? I have no idea. The strangest thing I have found in my freezer lately is okra.
Yes when we blew the breaker on the ac and didn't realize the garage freezer was on same circuit. That's not a good discovery other than I had just gone on a meat stock up and was going to put it in there and realized it was not running. We had to throw out about 50 dollars worth of random food. It made me clean out the fridge freezer and a chance to defrost and clean the garage big one so there is a positive.

I just did this today and found a ridiculous amount of stuff including an entire pound cake my grandmother baked DH in 2011. I asked him if he still wanted it and he said "hell yes, don't throw that out!" He claims he is thawing and eating it this week.
aaannnddd I realize I'm pretty new around here to admit this - but I never noticed this until just now. ha!
nama - there must be a nesting thing involving freezers. I just did the same thing last night and found all kinds of goodies in our deep freezer.
That probably is it! I have been craving TJ's seasoned corned beef but they only sell it around St. Patty's day so I was sad. When I saw it I was pretty excited =)
What is your favorite thing you found in your freezer?
Nothing too crazy - some sliced brisket from our favorite bbq place, and some individual meatloaves I made this spring. We had the meatloaves tonight. I stocked up on chicken breasts in February and am now so averse to chicken. I'm thinking DH & DS will have to eat it up without me.
I go through my freezer regularly (once a quarter) so that I don't buy something we already have. I think I might have to download an app next time (cause they have them). Luckily, freezers aren't too big in the UK so I don't lose too much stuff, though I was surprised last time to find lamb stock...didn't know I had made it.
The door to our beef freezer didn't get shut all the way so we had to throw out most everything in the freezer other than some butter, dried fruit and herbs, bagged cheese, and some freezer jam.
I still need to go through the pork freezer and our regular fridge freezer. There may be some finds in that one since it is the one the random crap ends up in.
DH and I ate kangaroo all the time when we studied abroad in Australia.
Kangaroo is very lean and slightly gamey. We mostly did 'roo steaks, but I think you would be fine to substitute the ground meat for beef in pretty much anything. You could also try making meat pies, as they are freaking delicious, and would highlight the kangaroo flavor. Try a recipe like this (fyi, mince means ground): www.recipes.co.nz/best-mince-pie
