I have been saying this for YEARS! My friends from college used to make fun of me for talking about how great a grocery store was!!! Now I have proof! Signed - Wegmans employee of 6 years and scholarship winner.
When we were visiting family in Mississippi, I went to the grocery store and was horrified and clutched my invisible pearls. I forgot what grocery shopping was like before wegmans.
Love love love it. DH and I trade weekend mornings to sleep in and on my morning to get up, I feed him and we go to Wegmans before it gets crowded. Its usually other parents with little ones but they manage to be showered and dressed. I guess their kids get up earlier than mine?
I miss the Pittsford Wegmans. I spent many hours there in the middle of the night in college.
DH doesn't understand the Wegmans love, but he's only experience my parent's Wegmans, which is so insanely crowded all the time. He didn't grow up with a family that included a trip to Wegmans as part of their vacation plans.
Oh and I love getting local produce. I miss seeing farmer john but he is 15 minutes away. Now I can put money in his pocket and get toilet paper too haha.
I just got back from there! We used the top cart pictured in #17 and it was glorious. Then the guy who bagged our groceries brought us a separate cart to bring them to the car and insisted on pushing it to the car. Ahhhh, Wegmans.

I love Wegmans so much. I worked there for over 10 years through high school and college. I honestly wish I had never left. Now it's the only place I'll shop. LOVE!

Where did you go to college?
I'm from Penfield. My family is all still up there.

I think we may have worked at the same one (only b/c you are the only person on here that knows where my hometown is and it is nowhere near Jamacia!) I worked at JC from 1990-1996 - I love that when I go there some of the people still work there from my days but they are now managers (like the Produce Manager).
God, I could go on and on and on. We call a grocery store in Houston "fake Wegmans" but it's missing SO much to be anything close.

Yes! I was there from 1997-2007. It takes forever to get through the store because I have to stop and talk to everyone that I know from when I worked there, lol! Worth it though!

Wait a minute. Either you don't live where I think you live, or I am MISSING OUT on something spectacular in my area.
15. The people who work there legitimately love working there.
And by work, they mean dropping everything and helping me in any way possible.
ME: Where is your Quinoa?
Wegman's Staff: I'm not sure, here, let me radio my boss and walk you over myself. Or I'll get someone to find it and bring it to you. Oh, and here's a coupon.
We don't have any Wegman's and I've never been but I fucking love upscale grocery shops!!! There is nothing better than an upscale grocery store that offers food made to order and special stuff like this Wegmans has. Nothing.

I hate grocery shopping and I still love Wegmans. I love #20 - I am so obnoxious with the "OMGAHHHHHH you have NEVER BEEN TO WEGMANS?!?!" and then I still can't adequately explain how amazing it is. LOL
The new Wegmans near me has a kind of restaurant thing in the middle of the seafood/meat section. You sit at a bar and they serve you off a really small menu. We ate there for the first time the other night and it was so amazingly good. Just eating out at the local grocery store.
