I love Wegmans. I met DH there, he was working there, he sold us a steak. He would say "meh" to working there. We have a friend who works maintenance there and they alternatively treat him well and like crap.
Oh and the Pittsford (flagship) Wegmans has a severely bad bottleneck right in the meat department. The area in front of the frozen chickens/chicken breasts only can fit 1 regular and one of the tiny carts, not two regular carts. Very dumb. The rest of the store is really good though...but I prefer my hometown one since I know it so well.
Publix Subs 4Lyfe though. I moved here from FL after meeting my H. I would love to have one right now.

My husband introduced me to the awesomeness that is the Pittsford Wegmans when I would visit him at his college. Many dinners were had there. His mind was blown when they started putting them down here in Northern Virginia not too long after he moved back into the area.
I miss the Pittsford Wegmans. I spent many hours there in the middle of the night in college.
DH doesn't understand the Wegmans love, but he's only experience my parent's Wegmans, which is so insanely crowded all the time. He didn't grow up with a family that included a trip to Wegmans as part of their vacation plans.
Wegmans saved my sanity when it opened within 20 minutes of where we now live, I wish we got the wine line. DH finally SHUT up about his hatred of all the other grocery stores. He claims he never knew how bad the other ones were because he had Wegmans growing up and in college& grad school. Rochester did have the whole range stores from the scary in city ones (I think most of them are closed now) to the suburb ones - the Pittsford one, my corrections Prof claimed you could shoot the Matrix using their security camera system. I while love Wegmans, I hated ChasePitkins. The one across from Marketplace had the worst customer service.

For a long time, DH didn't understand why I drive past two Giants, two Whole Foods, and a Safeway so I can shop at Wegmans.
My DDs and I were gone for 8 days this summer and DH actually had to do some grocery shopping. So he gets it now.
And it's not just the shopping. I plan lunch dates at Wegmans. With my kids, with my girlfriends, by myself if I have to. A cup of coffee (at least ten kinds to choose from, or I splurge on a latte or a smoothie, or...you get the picture), a plate of sushi or something from the self serve food bar, and I'm a happy camper. They have Friday night kids movies. The customer service is beyond amazing and the store brand is cheaper and better than most name brands for just about anything.
I just got back from there! We used the top cart pictured in #17 and it was glorious. Then the guy who bagged our groceries brought us a separate cart to bring them to the car and insisted on pushing it to the car. Ahhhh, Wegmans.
Wait a minute. Either you don't live where I think you live, or I am MISSING OUT on something spectacular in my area.
LOL, I don't live where you think I live. But just last night I returned from a long vacation there! Perhaps too long... I had to go to Wegmans immediately today.
