Yesterday my dog's ass exploded all over her crate and outside of it. That isn't her fault though and I still feel TERRIBLE that it happened because I should have taken the 2 minutes to take her out again before we left once I noticed the whining. But she always whines when we put her in her crate so I thought it was her normal "don't leave meeee" since she was out 10 to 15 minutes before. But we are still testing out the canned food to hard food ratio and her poor tummy and butt failed her before we got home. It's the first time since we've had her that she has EVER had an accident in her cage and she was so upset that she made a mess of her cage. We cleaned her, her crate, the floor, and I tossed the tray outside to deal with.
This morning the cat puked all over the kitchen. The rest of the house is wood or easily removal rugs and he picks the kitchen carpet.
The other cat has been catching flies and depositing them on the back of the couch. Either don't kill them or kill them and eat them, stop just laying them there! So I have to check every few hours to see if I need to clean up a fly or not. Since it got cooler here and rainy, it's like the fly population outside and in has exploded.
I took the dog out and she found a nice pile of poop to roll around in. So I had to lure her over to me with dog treats so I could grab her collar and scrub her neck with dawn detergent and water. Thankfully it was just around her neck and no where else.
Now the dog is sleeping on the couch with me, fat boy the cat is sleeping on the end table, and ninja the cat is sleeping on top of a cabinet. Like they didn't just spend 2 days being disgusting creatures.
alzi @fucksticklegit We are still renovating our house, we pulled up all the old carpeting in the house in the living room, dinning room, bathroom, stairs, and upstairs. Because there is (crappy condition) hardwood underneath. But the kitchen has plywood under it instead of hard wood, so we are leaving the carpeting in the kitchen until we rip all of that out and deal with it.
When it gets redone, the kitchen will have either tile or vinyl.
What's worse is, we think they used indoor/outdoor carpeting for the kitchen and bathroom.
Why did they put carpet in the kitchen in the first place?! That's just ridiculous considering how much stuff gets spilled/dropped/ etc in the kitchen. I have never seen carpet in a kitchen! WEIRDOS!

I don't know. The house was built in 1947 and the previous owner was the only owner. They royally messed this house up. The original wood floors would be beautiful but they have burn spots on them, we assume they put a wood burner in the living room because one spot has a massive scorched spot. They didn't connect the wood all the way out to the wall, there are 1 inch gaps at places. In the foyer and dinning room, they covered up the wood with plywood and put down stick tile and then ripped it up and put in carpet. The kitchen has plywood under the carpet and then hardwood under the plywood. But they glued AND nailed the plywood to the hardwood.
Eventually, we have to rip out all the plywood as well and put new down as the sub floor. From years of having carpet in the kitchen, the plywood has swelled and the floor is lumpy.
I hate when people put carpet in kitchens. I know my grandma had her house built with carpet because "it's cozy!" 10 years later she had tile put in because "the spots, omg the spots!"
I can live with the carpet for now, it's the fact that instead of insulating the house they just slapped on TWO layers of dry wall and called it day. That sucks ass to take down because it's 10x harder to do and you have to do 2x the amount of work per wall.
We are going to put in all new hard wood, tile in the bathroom, tile or vinyl in the kitchen and laundry room, hard wood face the steps, hardwood the landing, and then put in carpet in the 2 bedrooms. And the one bedroom...they put school tile down as the flooring. Black and pea green.
Did these people do massive quantities of drugs? Jesus.
We did find 2 baggies of pot inside the drop down ceiling in the bedroom her kids slept in. Our neighbors confirmed her kids were heavy into it. Why you wouldn't take the baggies with you or how you could forget about them is beyond me. It was a lot.
And the carpets were some sort of shade of psychedelic, especially her bedroom.
