Me: about 9 hours, give or take a little depending on the day. DH: 9 - 15 depending on the day. Normal days 9, but he's a teacher and coach, so days he has late practices or games it's more like 15.
I put in 40 hours a week. I deal with personal medical information, so no work can leave the office. Overtime usually happens around the holidays where you come in on a Saturday.
My husband works in finance at Tesla and he does about 60 hours a week. He was given a laptop and every day he brings home a stack that is at least 6 inches deep of bills to pay.

The office hours are officially from 8-4:30, M-F, but I have lots of mandatory work events that take place outside those hours, so I'm closer to 50 hours than 40.

I work 36-38 hours a week. The daily hours vary - 6 hours one day, 8 the next, a few 7 hour days, etc. It is not a firm number of hours every day but never over 8.5 and never less than 5.
Dh works 40 hours per week generally. It is 8 hours per day with the occasional 8 hours on Saturday and maybe 4 extra hours somewhere for overtime. His hours are firm in 8 or 4 hour increments.
8.5 hours a day. And then I generally go home. Thank goodness for that, lol.
H does 9 hour days but gets a day off every other week. He used to do a lot more overtime but with the sequester they can't earn comp time anymore so nobody really stays over.
I work 8 hour days. I used to come in early and stay late, as well as not take a lunch. Then I realized that the more I gave, the more they expected, and the less others bothered to do. So, now I put my 8 in, I take my lunch and I even take my 15 minute, union approved, morning and afternoon breaks.
But I hate my management and am paid total shit.
The job I had before this I would put in 10 hour days during our busy season and not think twice about it. The owner was awesome and I respected him.
When I had an office job it was pretty much 8-5:30ish with whatever breaks I took since I didn't clock in and out. H typically works 8-5:30/6 even though his company is technically a 9-5 but he's high up and has a lot of people under him so he likes having the time to himself early and late in the day.
We are both scheduled for 40. H averages 40 actual hours every week. I average 38-40, due to fluctuations in the court's afternoon calendar. If we wrap up before 5, I'm free to go straight home.

10-10.5 hour days were pretty standard "light" days when I worked in NY.
DH typically only works a 9 hour day, but he specifically chose this job for the lighter work load. He still ends up working 200 hours every four weeks because he also moonlights some weekends. He wants to add in a 10 hour a week private practice on top on that.
He's not good at working a lighter load. It's against his nature.

H works 12 hour days, four days a week and rotates being on-call on the weekend with the other people in his department, so every eight weeks. He's salary, mid-level and doesn't manage anyone.
When I worked, I had the usual eight-hour days, five days a week, but my 30 minute lunches weren't paid so I worked 37 1/2 hours a week. I was entry-level and hourly.

I work 9.5 hour days as a teacher. I also go back in after dinner or on weekends but that's just to keep up with everything and is at my discretion.
H does not work a regular office job. He's a firefighter and his schedule is all over the place. It's technically supposed to be 10 hour days or 14 hour nights.
I work about 50 hours/week now. It was closer to 60 but the pressure abated somewhat when I made partner. This includes travel time, which is away from my family but isn't hard the way beng "on" mentally is hard. This is standard at a firm for attorneys. Admin ( "pink collar") jobs are more like 35 hours/week, 9-5 with an hour for lunch.
