I don't have a link to the thread, but I had gained 16lbs at my 20 week appointment, up 8 lbs since my 16 week appointment, and my OB didn't care. And she's been telling me not to gain too much too early.

It was probably me Nama. At my 21 week appointment I gained three kilos in a month, and my doctor was not happy with me. It put my total weight gain to 16 lbs as well.
I am dreading weighing myself now, but I don't feel like I have put on much weight since then (fingers crossed).
I think so long as you aren't going crazy, not to worry too much. I have been eating a lot better lately, but still gaining about a pound per week since the 2nd tri. I think your body just gains what it needs to gain. My doctor has never said anything about my weight unless I lose. She said she doesn't care. To me it's just one more thing to worry about and for now I am not worrying lol.

Do not fret. They are growing like crazy right now, morning sickness is (hopefully)* easing up and our bodies will do what they need to do.
*my first pregnancy was all day sickness until I delivered. It drove me crazy to hear "it'll get better any day now" or "it usually eases up by ## weeks."

Or my post when I was feeling really crappy about gaining 6lbs in a month. As long as your eating right and exercising your body is doing to do what it wants.

I think my final weight gain was around 45 lbs. If it makes you feel any better, my weight was steady at about a lb per week. I am now about 2 weeks pp and lost about 25 lbs without trying. Other than trying to eat more balanced meals and not giving into all of the cravings

And I'll throw this out there too- I gained 60 lbs with my first. I was swollen like crazy from 22ish weeks on, and had major food aversions to basically anything other than bread and cheese. No meat. No great protein. I was in men's size 12 flip flops at the end. It was painful and miserable, though I passed my GD test with flying colors and my BP was fine.
46 lbs were gone at my 2 week appt after my 9 lb baby. I retained so much fluid.
Our bodies do what they need to. And I quit looking at the scale eventually.
