Whispers so I don't jinx anything- h has a really promising interview tomorrow that pays almost double and we would actually get to live as a family. Eeeee
:whispers back: good luck to your H yay for maybe living together!
DH found out that he will have 8 months of work, starting in October, and it is local!!! No more 13 hour rides home for him, every other week. At least for 8 months, we will have dinner as a family!
DS1 broke his collar bone in a hockey game on Friday, and last night was a good night for him. I dragged him out of the house and we went for a walk with DS2, and it was really nice. He was in a good mood by the end of it, and we laughed a lot. He slept through the night with no pain meds. He is on the road to healing, and it's nice to see him not in constant pain.
I got to be bff's guinea pig for her soon-to-open restaurant

Can I get the link to this?? This looks perfect for David's Star Wars birthday party.
I used this tutorial for the construction, but this recipe for the dough. I made a couple changes to the recipe: used coconut oil for 1/4 of the butter, added a little nutmeg and the zest of 1 orange. When I mixed in the food coloring (Wilton gel, not liquid), I found that it worked best to mix it with the butter and sugar after you cream it together. I put the sliced cookies in the freezer for a couple minutes so that they were really cold going into the oven and didn't spread out.
Thank you so much! Your cookies turned out sooooo good.
2) The job I've been waiting on for almost a year posts on Monday and is only up for 5 days to limit the number of applications received. I got a text from the person I do contract labor for there that said "get your ducks in a row." Happily my ducks are almost lined up!
