I had my first protective parent-type moment Friday

We took J's son, C, to the carnival.  J is scared of heights, so I got on the ferris wheel with C.  It started going up and all of the sudden I was fucking terrified, because he kept twisting and turning to look over the edge and all I could picture was him falling out.  I held onto him the whole time.  He was like, uh, Rocky, I'm fine, get off.  Lol.
