OMG, poor you and poor kids. That is really, really unfair to all of you
Is this just first day disorgnaization on the school's part and there will be some reshuffling, or is this permanent? Is there even room for 15 more seats in the room?
Our county just re-districted the middle schools, we had a few schools that were 105-120% capacity and one that was at 60%. Parents are up in arms about their kid going to a school that is a little further away but seriously the schools are busting at the seams, something needed to happen.
That blows! I had a year like that where we didn't have enough textbooks for all the students. Also, when you get that many kids (especially 7-9th grade) it starts to smell a little rank by the end of the day.

This happened to me as a student, several times. My town went through a HUGE population BOOM, and suddenly there just wasn't enough space one year. In HS I had classes in this weird long dormant part of the building with dust and crap everywhere. Again HUGE influx of kids that year.
When my Mom was in school she had to go in sessions because the population of the town was expanding faster than they could build the new schools.
It's a big part of the problem of living in an second rung suburb that has big jumps and dips in population.

Hopefully the kids will go home and tell their parents that they're sitting on the floor. I can't imagine not making a phone call if I found out that my kid didn't have a desk.

That's what I would call crowd control, not educating. How in the *F* are you expected to teach 45 students? Maybe some should anonymously call the fire chief for a surprise inspection. My school gets those a bunch in the beginning of the year.
